| Romeo - 14 week old puppy - Losing Hair My Yorkie is 14 weeks old and is losing his hair on the top of his head. Is this something to be concerned about? He has an appointment at the vet on January 25 to get his last set of puppy shots but I wanted to make sure I didn't need to be more concerned and take him sooner. |

Donating YT 10K Club Member | Does it appear his hair is thinning....because I betcha it's not really. Look again closely. His dark hair may have begun breaking into a lighter color. When my first one did that...it did look like he was going bald but closer inspection...nope, it's just lighter at the roots.

| when a yorkie reaches a certain age, the dark hair on the top of his head starts to change color. It starts to go silver in color and it looks like they are going bald. Don't worry, its normal. He will start to get his normal color shortly.

| My yorkie is losing hair on head My yorkie is losing hair on his head- he is 14 months- took to vet yesterday and he has been scratching alot and she feels it is an allergy- so he is to start taking 12.5 mg or teaspoon of benadrylevery day- if anyone can suggest any other treatments I would be grateful.. He is totally a inside dog and in the summer he is on frontline-- no carpet, wood floors in all the house. THanks for all your help Last edited by harleygirl99; 01-13-2008 at 03:56 PM. |
