Our Blessings R Many Donating Member | ???? Yorkie Nappers???? Could They Have Been. Do you know I haven't left Prairie Bea home once in all this time, she is just sooo tiny and I feel more comfortable not leaving her when I have to go to the city. I take her where ever I go. Yes, even to the Dr.s office, when Jack had his MRI she went in with me in the waiting area, she is so quiet in her little crate maybe because she has her little cuddle toys with her that I had made along with a t shirt of mine Occasionally we eat out at Wendy's cause we can sit right by the door and can keep eye on our vehicle (which is the only time she is not right with us) she is very good in her crate. I feel more comfortable placing her crate on the floor and covering it with a fleece blankie. Gotta tell you though, we was in Wendy's New Years Day, there was a surburban parked next to us, a lady was in the drivers seat, backed into the parking space. After we went into Wendy's, I got Jack seated right away by the window, I got our foods and sat down where I could look straight at our truck, then after a bit the lady in the suburban pulled out and around into the front of our truck and a big burly man got out of the back seat and went out and around looking into our truck. I immediately jumped up ran out and he was by my door, Prairie Bea of course was placed on passenger side on the floor and I had my fleece blankie over the top of it. I said to him, get away from my truck door I am about ready to cold cox you ( term for slugging him) he backed up and then started to stammer. He said, "oh let me explain." I said, "you better explain good, cause I am in mind to clobber you." (Jack said I had pushed my sleeves up on my jacket) The big burly man said, " oh let me explain lady, the women in the suburban works for childrens services through the county and she thought you left a baby in the truck." I said, "yes it is my baby in there and she goes everyplace with me and seldom is left in the truck but I sit where my eyes are on our vehicle, like now." He said, "well, she was going to call the sherriff's and report you." I said, " go right ahead, did you hear my baby bark?" He looked at me, like WHOA, I told him our baby is a puppy. I told him to get the heck out of here, or I will call the sheriff. He ran and jumped in the back of the suburban. The windows were all so tinted you couldnt see into the rear, but my thoughts were now why wasn't this guy in the front seat? Why was he in the rear and if this lady really was with the childrens services, why didn't she get out to look? Whether he was telling me the truth I don't know but I sure was ready to clobber him if he touched our truck. Jack said, "oh my gosh Patti you are too brave." I told Jack, " when it comes to our babies I won't be scared of anyone." This man was a big burly guy but hey us Mom's can take on that if we have to. I have no idea what he was up to, but my suspicions told me he was up to no good and I generally am right. We haven't been into Wendy's since but for sure next time it'll be through drive up window and just eat in the truck. Not able to get on the computer much these days but got email from someone of Yorkie nappers happenings and had to let you all know of what we experienced, so be real careful and watchful for your fur babies. Wishing you all a great day. Patti and Jack and girls. Last edited by Baby Blessing; 01-13-2008 at 01:23 PM. |

| I don't know, if there was a blanket thrown over it(what moms do to keep babies in carseats warm), I might have peeked in also to make sure it wasn't a baby! People do leave little kids and babies in cars. I have left a note on someones car when they left a little tiny girl in the back seat. The little girl actually got out of her carseat, out of the car and looked at the note, she was probably 3 or 4, wondering what I was doing. The lady just ran into the post office but still...YOU DO NOT LEAVE LITTLE KIDS IN CARS! I don't think this sounds like a dog napper, more like someone who was curious to see what the heck you left alone.

| wow Patti! you ARE brave! although I would have done the SAME thing! HAHA noone will scare me when it comes to protecting my babies! You were absolutely right to be suspicious! Maybe you should call the police and tell them just so they can keep an eye around for this guy and the vehicle!

| I would have gotten the vehicle description and license number and beat him calling the cops. If the woman was from child protection, she would have been the one looking in the window not the guy. She would have had to seen the proof for herself (for any report) and at the very least, when you came out of the restaurant she would have gotten out of her vehicle and identified herself with identification from child services. I would have reported their behavior to the police myself. They could have been looking to steal anything lying on the seats in your car or steal the vehicle itself. (My son just had his car stereo stolen out of his car in Tempe). Definitely use the drive through windows with your baby in the car or at least leave one person in while the other runs in and picks up the order. I just don't trust anyone anymore, especially when it comes to our little ones.
