Donating YT 500 Club Member | Yorkies in your bed My cat sleeps with us and I wouldn't mind one bit if Guinness did the same (although Mercy would feel differently I'm sure) but after reading some stories here about how fragile they are, I'm sooo nervous he'll fall off the bed! Plus he's soooo exciteable, he won't settle down for nothing. I have to set him in the kitchen with the gate for him to relax and rest. He is like the Energizer bunny for real! How did you end up doing the bedtime thing?

Phantom Queen Morrigan Donating Member | morgan sleeps in her house in her ex-pen. I do not want her sleeping in bed with me because i think i'll roll over her and kill her. she's too small at 4.5lbs and get lost in the pillow mattress and comforter. i feel its much safer for her to sleep in her own bed.

But I think I'm going to get him his own bed and bring it upstairs, Mercy is on the bed, so at least he could stay IN the room with us. I am still working on potty training though.

| Lacy is 7lbs and sleeps with me, and I'm taking care of my parent's 6lb yorkie who sleeps with me. I have always wondered about those that have tiny yorkies..like 4 (or maybe 5)lbs and under.

| Well when my pit mix was a puppy she was VERY sickly. She was only a little over a pound when I brought her home from the shelter. I was soo scared to leave her in the pen at night, that I had her sleep right next to my face so I would know if she had trouble breathing. My roommate were always scared I was going to roll over and squash her, but instintively I knew she was there and would wake up if she moved. The plans were to have her sleep in her bed later on... but 4 yrs later and she still sleeps with me. So when Slade came I trained him to sleep in his crate. I tried to let him sleep in the bed a few nights, but all he and Laney would do was play, so he sleeps in his crate.

| I was so undecided on whether it would be good to have Piper tuck in with me or not that I would fall asleep on the sofa with her and then sometime in the wee morning hours, would tuck her into her bed in her crate (which is right next to my bed). I loved snuggling up with her, but was raised in a household where dogs were not allowed on beds and I wasn't comfortable with the idea of puppy feet stepping all over the nice clean sheets! I got pneumonia a month ago and was too tired to go through that routine any longer and finally just tucked her in with me. I do think there is an instinct not to roll over on to them..or they are quick to get out of the way. One or the other. We're both very happy with this new arrangement..although it is very funny to wake up to a Yorkie standing on my chest looking into my eyes! Makes me smile every time. And I NEVER oversleep! |

| I sleep in my bed, my 4 dogs sleep in their beds, works out best for all of us..I tried letting a couple of them sleep with me once, and I didn't sleep as good(worrying about rolling over on them, plus they wanted up right next to me), hubby and I like our space and our privacy... |

Living My Yorkie Dream Donating Member | Both Lucky and Lexie sleep with hubby and I; have from almost day one. But for the life of me I can't remember how when they were younger, we got them to stay still so they didn't jump or fall off the bed. All I know is that we were suckers for a crying puppy and that's how they ended up sleeping with us. We have little Toby now too & at 2.2 lbs, there is no way I could get any sleep with him in with us for fear of him falling or being squished or suffocated. But lo and behold, there is no need cuz he goes into his crate and not a peep out of him til morning when he hears us waking. WOW When we have had Toby (or one of Lexie's puppies) up in bed with us for just a while, they were so full of energy and on the move, hubby and I wondered, "How did we ever start it with Lucky & Lexie when they were small?" Like I said, we can't remember, but we did. Sometimes I think I'd like to get Lucky and Lexie in a bed of their own .....don't know if that'll ever happen though.

Donating YT 30K Club Member | I have 4 dogs in bed with me. 5lbs, 4 ls, 2 lbs and 10 lbs. The 10 lb pom always lays at the head of the bed on the other side. Pixie and Dixie sleep usually on one of the two snuggle sacks on the other side of the bed and Calii sleeps either in the area in my headboard or by my feet. I have a ramp by the side of my bed that all but the pom use to get up and down. Maya won't use it but lets me know when she wants to get down.

| Well here is another way to start with the little ones. Zoie was like 2lbs and at home I played with her in bed but tried one of the soft canvus type crates and would zip her in at night. She had soft bedding in there with a toy and her blanket and she could see me through the netting for windows. I layed her right in bed with me. Now of course if you kick while your are asleep that might not work for you. But because she was small she started that way and beside you are up about every 2 or 2 1/2 hrs to go to potty so you don't get much sleep till they can hold it longer. Not like you would have time to get in a deep sleep. Then she graduated to laying in a ball by my arm after playing at night. She wakes you up by licking you in the face and lets you know its time to get up and go potty and have breakfast. She is an early riser. I wouldn't trade that for the world.

| my two both sleep with me, I was afraid to let Gino sleep with me at first because he is SO little and I was afraid I would roll on him or something. But he does great! He LOVES to be swaddled in one of his lil blankets and he lays right close to me, practically in my skin, if he could. Its adorable!
