| How did you pick your furbaby's name? i don't know if this has been asked before or not. how did you guys pick your baby's name? my grandma had a bed doll named lily may. i remember holding her when i was a little girl. i was with grandma when she bought the doll, she got it from a rummage sale, when i was about 6 years old. (i am not telling how long ago that was) i have nothing but good memories about my grandparents. when i was thinking about a name for my new baby i thought of grandma's doll. some people that i have told how i got her name think it is wierd, but i really don't care what they think lily may's name reminds me of my grandma. gloria |

| I had a list of names I liked that I came up with over the couple of weeks I was waiting to bring Elphaba home. On the day I picked her up I still didn't know...I figured after a day or so with her the right name would show it self. And it did ... later that day when she was in her crate crying her head off...and I was laying on the floor with the laptop writing a paper. I had my itunes running thinking that the music would soothe her since I wasn't talking to her. The soundtrack to Wicked was playing...and my favorite song, Defying Gravity, started. The begining of the song (in speaking voice) goes "Elphaba! Why couldn't you stay calm for once..." and my little Miss Elphaba immediately got quiet and sat up in her crate. I thought I was seeing things so I played the song again.. and again she sat up and got quiet! So I decided Elphaba was it. Now "Elphie" had been on my list...a nickname for Elphaba. And I had planned to go with that...but she actually responds better to Elphaba than Elphie. And to this day...if she's unhappy and crying in the car...if I put Wicked on she calms down. So when people ask me how she got her name...I tell them she picked it herself! |

| I've always liked "people" names. I wanted something girly. It was between Star, Paris, and Lacy and I finally decided on Lacy. At the time, she didn't seem like a Lacy...she was such a tomboy & so hyper. But she's grown into her girly name and doesn't at all seem like a Paris or Star

| I just always thought Gypsy was the perfect name for a long haired dog. Funny thing is I keep her hair short. She is such a flirt that Gypsy fits well.

| My sisterinlaw's hubby named Jaya.... (I had not known at the time, but he had gotten the name from a famous indian actress who was big in the 1960s..and actually who is still very famous)... so everyone always assumes i named her after that actress. However, the first time i heard it, i loved it...it sounded so angelic and suited her perfectly. Naming Jaya was a big ordeal because initially we thought we were going to carry over the name Lola. Before we had gotten Jaya, we had placed a deposit on a puppy in the states from just a backyard breeder (which i hadnt realized at the time was a bad thing). Anyways, after the first time we visited the puppy at 8 weeks old, we decided on the name Lola. But three days before we were scheduled to pick her up, she died because there was water in her brain (it was so devastating to us). A week later, karma came through, and we came home with a puppy with the same birthday as Lola. It took us about a week and half to choose between going with Lola or another name, but the first time i heard "Jaya" --that was it. I had picked out the name Jenna before we even got her... I had wanted a J- name (im one of those geeks who has matching names for her dogs, and who will have matching names for her kids haha) For me... it depends on the 'sound' of the name, how it feels, and how it suits the puppy. |

| This is an easy one...... Tatum is actually a name I had considered for my second daughter but I chickened out at the last minute thinking it was "too different" and that I would tire of it. Eight years later I was still regretting not using it because she turned out to be such a "Tatum" in her personality. I still loved the name so much, I named our pup that. It was actually a hard decision between "Tess" (my middle name) and "Tatum" but "Tatum" won. I also have always loved the name "Piper" but thought it a little too much for a skinkid so I will use that one next!

| names My girls are Kissy, Angel and PRincess. I will soon be getting Candy Cayne. My mother actually named my Kissy. SHe saw that name on a champion yorkie that she saw on the internet. Kissy has lived up to her name as her tongue is constantly kissing everyone and everything. Angel was named when we got her at a month before my son went to Iraq. I had to have the distraction and thought that she would be the Angel to keep me sane and him safe. She has also lived up to her name as she is just a little sweetheart and my little cuddlebug. My son came home safely too . Princess came to us at almost a year old and was such a little diva. She has definitely lived up to her name as she doesn't expect to be treated any differently than the Queen. My new baby that will be coming home in a month or so, is going to be named Candy Cayne. I can just tell that she is going to be super sweet. I needed a C name to round out my PAK so now my PACK is complete! |

YT 2000 Club Member | Jeter got his name because I am a big Yankee fan and Derek Jeter is my favorite player. He's such a awesome player to watch play the sport of baseball!! I have had his name picked out for over ten years when I told my husband that I wanted our Yorkie to be a boy when the time came to get him. I have plans on naming all future Yorkies that we get after a Yankee player.

| The breeder I got my baby off of was going to use her for breeding, but she didn't get big enough--so she named her Piper. She knew that name, so I just stuck with that. |

Donating YT 500 Club Member | I'm a little embarrassed but the first thing that popped in my head when I saw my little man, was he looked like a Guinness Black & Tan beer. LOL His coloring is just like that and it just fit. My hubby came up with the McLovin' which I found out is from that goofy movie out, I haven't seen it yet. anyhoo, the name totally fits him and I call him Guinnie Guinnie Poo Poo most of the time anyhow
