| question about Mochi's uneven ears I have noticed since I got Mochi home that one of his ears stands up all the way and one of them doesn't, it sort of goes half way up. I know this can happen if the hair is too long, so I trimmed them evenly and got some of the weight off them but they still do this. I am wondering if this could be because one of the ears isn't as strong as the other (the muscle) because of letting too much long hair drag it down or too long (I am sure the kennel he was rescued from never groomed him right). Or is this just a common problem with yorkies? I always keep Momoko's ear clipped short since she was little so she has never had this problem, but i've seen other yorkies with uneven ears before. -Tracy |

| It's hard to say. You could try shaving them both and if they're still that way, I suppose you could tape the one ear and see if it stays up after a few days.

| Rosi has one ear that does this, and the funny thing is she use to have both ears up. Both mine get groomed every 6 weeks. I call it a lazy ear

| Me too . In fact, when I went to look at puppies (my neighbor had the breeder bring them to her house), there were 3 of them; 2 girls (one which the breeder was keeping,) and one boy. My neighbor said she wanted the other girl, but if I really wanted a girl, she'd take the boy. I didn't know which was which, but Max had one ear that was still flopped down and I just kept thinking "I hope that one's the BOY", LOL...I just thought it was so cute.....however, it did stand up on it's own about a week or two later . I love him anyway, LOL .

| I just was feeling Mochi's ear and I noticed that it's sort of grown "folded over" in one spot, it must either be a birth defect or an old injury that happened to him in that awful kennel he came from...doens't seem to bother him at all though, so I don't care if he is lop-sided, I'll have the vet look at it monday just to be safe. |

| You're such an angel for rescuing Mochi! And I love his new name! He's so lucky to have found you, and it's obvious the feeling is likewise!
