| Boys vs. girls No 'battle of the sexes' intended! I have three boy furkids and one girl, and sometimes I think it's fun to discuss the differences. I must admit, my personal preference is a neutered boy. That all started about 17 years ago when I adopted "Humphrey". He was a 4 year old mini-poo that was found by our city ACO. Nobody claimed him, so I had the wonderful chance to be his new Mommy! I immediately had him neutered. A more loyal boy there never was. I could walk through a huge crowd of people with him off leash and he'd never, ever leave my side. I also had a spayed female Lab at the same time. An absolute doll. Brilliant dog..but if she didn't want to do something, I don't care if you were Cesar Milan himself, she wouldn't budge. My two (n) boy Chis are totally smitten with me. They gaze into my eyes like long lost lovers..LOL. Widdles, although more independent, I could also tie in knots..he's so willing. I get up, the herd moves. I sit, the herd sits. Now Indigo, my spayed girlie...she's the slightly twisted sister. Don't get me wrong, she'd NEVER bite...well...anything other than a pant-leg on occasion. But she's mooooody. She eyeballs the boys out of the corner of her eye if she's sleepy...DO NOT DISTURB..they get closer, and I can see her nose-hairs quiver as her lip sloooowly lifts. The whole time she's watching me to see if I'm going to catch her. If you push her during the night, and you're NOT me, you catch a tongue lashing. If she's emotional..she glares at you and won't move off her spot on the sofa, even when I need to vaccuum it. She's very, very smart however. And when she wants lovin' she is extremely endearing... Just very, very different and lovable in their own ways! What is your furfam like?

| I just got Sadie and she is only 12 weeks so I can't tell with her yet...but Chewy is a year and a half... and he is a lover also. But if he is sleeping and you try to move him he shows teeth and does this low growl!!! What a crank pot! He is a real people lover but he can be moody also... He also only comes when he wants. if you call him and insist he come, he takes his time!!! Sometimes he will take little detours just to show you he is still some what in charge!

| Carlos is my first and he is a boy I love the fact that he is very protective of me. I am not sure what the females are like but he loves to play and follows me everywhere I go he never misses a beat.

| Our little girl Samantha runs our household truth be told. She will scold our two boys if they get out of line. But it's so funny when I think about it because I also have horses, and my mare runs the show out there. And my geldings act like well whatever and are more laid back. Well ladies not much different than the human species. LOL!!! |

| I have 2 boy dogs, a 6 yr Boxer and a 9 month yorkie. They are such lovers. I am warm all winter long with Seamus (Boxer) at my feet and Snickers (Yorkie on my lap). My husband will complain that I spend more time snuggeling with them than him, but they don't expect anything . I had girl dogs growing up and they were very moody, but also very loving. I guess girl dogs just don't put up with crap, just like human women. |

| i have two girl jaya...is very independent ever since we got jenna (so its been two weeks). But she is SO devoted! Follows me around everywhere and her eyes just sparkle with love when she sees me. If i dont play with her she sulks. She has always been a big sulker though... goes to her bed and covers her eyes if she's not getting enough attention. Ive also noticed that she's only affectionate when she wants to be...though she takes pity. For instance, i can put my nose right in her face and look her eye to eye and she'll look at me and its a staredown... im like "kiss me kiss me! i havnt cuddled with u all day cuz uve been too busy with the new pup!" she'll wait and wait, look elsewhere, look at me briefly, look away, and then look back with pity, and give me a teeny tiny brief lick on my nose and then look at me with a "ok there now will u let me go?" Its the funniest thing ever! Jenna on the other hand, who is 12 weeks now, is crazy affectionate. all she wants to do is cuddle in ur lap and give kisses. she is much different from jaya.... jaya is smart but can be cold. Jenna on the other hand is SO warm ...and not nearly as smart as jaya is lol. she's the cutest thing. but we'll see how her personality develops. The main difference between the two is that Jenna is a lapdog and Jaya wud rather just play independently at your feet and expects you to watch adoringly. My husband refers to her (jokingly) as the "spoiled and stuck up poochie that runs the house"... i think he likes it tho lol. Jenna is much more laid back... and my broinlaw says she acts like a boy puppy. so yea......... very different personalities between them, but time will only tell...its too soon to tell with jenna i think. | also, jenna begs for attention...jumps up at you and begs and begs... makes u melt. Jaya on the other hand, has too much pride (jeez can a dog have pride?). She will just sulk or sit there and stare at you with these big soulful eyes and uses emotion through them to bring u to her. She is SUCH a special dog... really she is.. i cant express that enough.... she is wise beyond her 6 months.... i bet she was a wise old man in her previous life. I love her to bits n bits |

| I am liking this post already I have a boy name Max and I wouldn't have it any other way.he is so smart he barks on command, follows me around but is independent.he is a lover and so sweet.he barks at my boyfriend when he comes to see me because he is protective of me but at the same time is ubber friendly and will approach anyone he is not fearful at all and very active. now my sister has a girl and she is shy, moody, loving but not as active as my boy.I don't care for timid dogs it takes away something for me.I wanted a girl but seeing the differences and dealing with the heat cycles I said no and if I do get another it will be a boy.Max also likes belly rubs and can do lots of tricks that I didn't teach him. he taught me he knew these things and I got him at 9wks.

| Rocky is 4 years old and he has been very independent since day 1. Daisy is 3 years old and she is the typical lap dog. She is so content to just sit on my lap and loves to get rubs and loves. Rocky is very dominant and every time I give Daisy any attention, he has to break it up or remind me he was my first. ;-) They of course rule our home and my husband and family are all aware of this. Funny, my husband at first never thought he could get use to a "She, She" dog, but now my husband is smitten. Rocky and Daisy are not pets, they are our family. |

| hmmmm my babies are still young so this may change but right now, my little girl is has a "sweeter" personality and my boy seems to take to my fiancé and me more equally... my little girl really seems to snuggle me more than my fiancé and is less hyper and more reserved...she hardly ever makes a peep either except for when she is playing with her brother ... she is just so well behaved i am often amazed she is still a puppy! my little boy seems to love EVERYONE and has not met anyone yet who is not his new friend lol ... but he is really hyper and kind of "yippy" ... but my little boy is catching onto the whole wee pad and "sit" command much better than his sister they are both too cute for words but personality & behavior wise my girl is much sweeter and calm...but my little boy is such a little lover and wants to give kisses all the time!
