Pet Stain Removal Now that Chloe is doing pretty well with her potty training, I'd like to clean up all the carpet in the house. I'm sure she has gone potty when I wasn't looking and now the carpet is probably full of urine, which I'm sure isn't helping the training situation. I usually use Nature's Miracle for the spot treatments. One technique I have thought about using is a black light and lots and lots of nature's miracle. Another option would be to shampoo all the carpets, but I'm not sure if that would eliminate pet stains. What does everyone else use?

My Mom (who is almost 82 and had dogs all her life) found something years ago that worked fantastic..she didn't know if they were still in business, so looked it up on the internet, and low and behold, they were still in business..she gave me the website, and I ordered the stuff and I love it..you can use it in your shampooer also..now, it's pretty expensive, but, I have used natures miracle for years now, and I think this works 100% better..it's www.usadvanage.com I get the wonderpet pack, mom gets the degreaser, but, it can be used on everything, including pee, etc.

I use a product called "Capture" when one of my girls has an accident on the carpet. You can buy it at stores such as Home Depot, Lowes, Menards. It works great! I have light grey carpet that is so light, that it is almost white, and it removes all traces of the stain. Sometimes, if someone has vomited, it may take 2 0r 3 treatments, but it works. Sheila

I can recommend Simple Solution for urine spots. You must soak up the urine first and then saturate the area and let it dry on its own. Go back later and shampoo it up when you shampoo your carpets. I can't recommend it for all feces and vomit stains though. It takes up some of them but with others, it still leaves a light stain. It takes some hand care with vinegar and carpet spot cleaner to get those up. But for me, it works fine. I'm more concerned with the urine spots since vomit and feces stains are a rarity here.

I have tried several products. But the stain always comes back. I started using a Bissel Little Green Machine and it works great. It sucks out all the urine and the odor. I use the pet stain and odor remover.

| I use Spot Shot on my carpet. It takes pet stains right out and doesn't take too much scrubbing unless it's a really old stain.

Yes, I use it after I shampoo to see if there are any problem areas. So far, no problems. I shampoo about once a month unless Tink has been sick. Then I'll shampoo the offending area right away.

The black light is key. I've always used natures miracle, and still think soaking the carpet with NM is the best to clear the odor. That said, since you are afraid there are spots you cannot see....definitely pick up a little blacklight. My last dog developed major incontinence problems the last few years...and the house was always smelling because I knew there were accidents I was not finding. I was SHOCKED when I brought out the black light how many spaces there really were. But once I found them with the black light and used NM no more smell.

I used to use Nature's Miracle, but they changed the formula back in 2003; after then, I noticed it didn't work as well. It turns out the original formula is now marketed under the brand Petastic, and it is GREAT. I'm also a big, BIG fan of Kids 'N' Pets, which I discovered this past weekend. The stain removal wasn't as good as Petastic, but it removed odor really, really well. On a related note, I'm in the market for a new carpet cleaner...any suggestions?
