| Boarding in the OC Hi there I was wondering if there were any places tthat pople can recomend for boarding in the OC area...we are going to be leaving for just 2 nights max but she cant stay at the house on her own. I have been trying to look online but most places are cold looking like the animal shelter and they are charging for each time they walk etc.......I would like one where she could frolic during the day outside.... If anyone knows oof any please pass on the info. Also how much does good boarding generaly cost? Thanks Jenn & Gidget |

| I live in NY (Staten Island) and my vet charges 37.00 a day...I will be having to go out of town shortly but I am hiring a petsitter thanks to eroar (Shivani)..hopefully to watch him for 4 days..I will be paying 40.00 a day which I don't think is bad because he will be getting walked and played with all day long!!!

| I do not live in Cali, but I would say that the prices where you are are probably comparable to NYC. I would be careful boarding a yorkie, but i used to board my 28# pug at a lovely plac in SOHO and they charged $45 per night. It was worth it and they had a live cam that you could log onto and watch your doggie. In looking for a kennel, i would suggest looking for a place that understands and is sensitive to your needs as a pet owner and seems to accomadate that. How big (small??) is your yorkie? Is there anyway you could take him with you? |

| I live over in the IE. I know of a great pet-sitter out of Yorba Linda. Where in OC are you? Is your dog good with others? I could help you if you'd like. Quote:

| Pet/houseditter may be the answer as long as you get someone good with dogs. I know WEE-R-Yorkies has a pet sitting service. Not sure how far from you they are. Try the website. |

| Dr. Whitaker, Newport Hills Animal Hospital Dr. Whitaker is a specialist in yorkies and toy dogs, he does do boarding and his staff loves the babies. They are taken out and groomed and just pampered to death. He is an absolutely wonderful vet and when my boys are ill (rarely thank god) that is who they go to. Terrific practice and they love the little yorkies. |
