| Panties Material I am making my little girls there own panties b/c quite honestly I have searched every site and found none in ANY materials to my liking nor are they made the way I am aspiring to make them. Does anyone know what materials are best to be waterproof or leakproof for the outside and what to use to be most absorbent on the inside? I am not a fan of pads or trashing the environment like that so I am going to be expirimenting with making washable panties for my girls that will be absorbent and resistant to leaking through. I'm not a materials expert yet, so any help is appreciated! I didn't know where to post this either so i have it here and in the Products Wanted forum. Thanks guys if you can offer any help!

Thanks! I'll have to check them out, I just really want to make my own with cute materials that aren't baby cheesy looking. lol My mom got me a sewing machine for Christmas so I could start putting my own doggie clothing ideas into reality instead of whining about how expensive and uncute everything else out there is! I swear the only other places I've seen cute clothes for our babies is on the stores that fellow YT'rs have!!

| The waterproof fabric that is all the rave in the cloth diaper world for babies is called PUL (Polyurethane laminate (or "PUL") is generally a Polyester interlock knit fabric that has been laminated to a thin film of Polyurethane. This laminated fabric is useful as a wind and/or water barrier in the construction of fluid-splash protecting garments, shower curtains, outerwear clothing, cloth nappies / diapers and cloth menstrual pads.) As far as I know the only place it can be bought right now is online, unless that has changed recently. You can get it in some really cute prints and it is a nice fabric.. really nice. I have bought it in "diaper cuts" from work at home Mom's, so it is possible to buy some smaller pieces so your not wasting money on many different prints or colors.. if you were making them to sell you would of course want larger amounts. If you have any questions about where to get it or anything just let me know

| Oh the inside would depend how elaborate you want to get. You could just use an old dish towel and line it with an old tee shirt. if you want to wick moisture way then line it with fleece. There are tons of great fabrics out there but it really depends how elaborate you want to get.

It may take a couple of weeks to get the fabric (hope not) but I noticed the lady said she had a baby due on January 8th . I was also thinking about trying some belly bands made with this as an outer band and (besides making ones with fixed washable pads inside) trying to make some with removable washable pads, so you just have to change the pad and not the whole belly band each time. That way a person wouldn't have to buy so many belly bands and the washable pads would be a lot cheaper to buy. Kind of like plastic pants with cloth diapers on babies, but much nicer than plastic. What do you think about that?

| I have bought from http://diapercuts.com/store/Default.asp before, also if you look at the "soaker" materials they are super absorbant. Look under the inner diaper fabrics and you will get a good idea of what some great wicking fabrics are to line the panties. Microfleece is probably the best option for our fur butts since the others can be quite expensive.. microfleece is too. Jo ann's will have sales on micro fleece periodically so it's worth looking there are at any other local fabric shops. Celtic cloths is a good place to buy from as well, I've heard good things about them.
