| standing ears hello, my yorkie is 4 months old and the breeder told me that her ears will most likely stand up because all her siblings and both parents have ears up. I was wondering if there is too much hair on her ears it weighs them down and she cant hold them up. Also what age should her ears stand up if she has had down ears? |

| Zoey's went up and down. Up for good at about 5mo. Chloe has had hers up from the day we got her at 12 weeks. People do recommend shaving off the hair to reduce the weight on the ears.

| I heard that they usually go up 3 to 6 months of age. You can trim the ears and then tape them up if you want. Someone might come along and explain how you would go about doing that, or you could try google. I forget the site I used. My Koda's ears haven't gone up yet, but he's just 12 weeks. I just trimmed them not to long ago, and the seems to be helping. If I need too I will tape them. Hope I helped, GL!

| My pups ears were up at 8 weeks and only start to fold down when the hair gets heavy. I think 6 months is about the cut off point-if they are up by then I think they will stay up (unless the hair gets heavy). |

| my breeder told me that not olnly should you keep the hair short but you should tape the ears till they are up because if not the cartilage can grow down while they are floppy... I taped Sadies and now at 12 weeks they are up. I hope for good!
