| Arrrggggghhhhhhhh!!! Do any of you think Lexy will stop eating our walls and woodwork when she is finished teething? Our new house is starting to look like a family of Beavers live here! She knows it is wrong, because she is so sneaky about it! I've sprayed the woodwork with antiperspirant and she doesn't like that, but then she moves on to another place or a piece of furniture! I need some encouragement here! Work with me people!

| Ought-Ohhhh! It may be more of a "puppy thing" than teething. I was VERY consistant with mine and would say "NO NO" then give them something they were aloud to play with (and tell them what a good puppy they were even if it killed me LOL). It took a lot of work, but as I mentioned in a previous thread, it is a rare occassion that mine take anything that isn't theirs (regardless of breed). They sure can destroy a house! I put Kopper in my bedroom when he was very little...thinking "what could he possibly do?!?" I was only going to be gone for 10 minutes...well, he shredded all of the carpet by the door! ...Crate trained after that and no problems! Good luck! |

| What items does she have that are for her to chew. If she were mine...and you might have already tried this.....I would try confining her and giving her things that are ok for her to chew on. Anything that she would prefer to the wood and give her praise when she is chewing it. Just like a human baby they just have to chew...anything that is ok for her that she will chew instead of developing bad habits you will have to break later. I had a scottie once that wanted to eat my dining chairs. Above is what I had to do. It did work for her. Good luck. |

| Can you keep her in some type of a pen while your not able to watch her? Luckily, Mollie has no interest in furniture legs or trim, knock on wood. |

| no advice here either. I have to keep Tinkerbell's bed pulled away from the wall, because she sneaks and digs at it while I think she is sleeping! Little STINKER! |

| Bitter apple gets a lot of rave reviews, I personally have not tried it. I did provide Greenies when I could oversee it and when mine were puppies they would just eat them like a beaver. I also used the No method and made sure they have toys, point out the toy and play with them. Sometimes it is boredom, needing attention and of course, teething. The other method that worked for me was a small spray bottle with water. One spray in the face broke bad behavior very quickly now they can just see the bottle in my hand and they know/stop. Do not let them have too many toys, I keep it down to 3 and then change to another 3, sometimes having too many is overwhelming. I found that some toys are better chew toys than others, a rope was one thing they loved. Even with everything, though, puppies chew. I tried to tell myself when Chloe chewed the poster of my new four poster bed that it wasn't a big deal. After all, when I'm gone, someone will appreciate the little bite marks. However, hubby did not exactly see it that way when Lacey chewed his prized antique rocker. At that point he commanded that anything of value be put out of reach! Sure, right. |

| Mine would probably chew up the whole house if I didn't have chew sticks and chew toys for them. I constantly give them a new one so it holds theri attention.
