BANNED! | What would you say??? Ok I know there's alot of info about the eye color determining the coat being Silky or Cottony. Which one would you say this is?? Both these pictures are of the same girl my Keisha, yet two different eye colors. The pictures were taken not too far apart either. |

Living My Yorkie Dream Donating Member | Oh man, don't you hate it when that happens? All I can say is ..... maybe a mixture of a silky and cottony? Or maybe cottony as a youngster and silky later??? Not sure.......and not much help, am I? LOL Sorry. She's a cutie though; how old is she?

| Deb -- I won't be any help, because I don't put a lot of faith into the eye color/coat type theory. I will tell you, though, you have a beauty on your hands! Post more pics of her.... |

| Mine have the silky coats and have the green to them, the other one(a biewer) has the red tint, and does have the cottony coat..I have never seen them throw off green and red eyes...If you take them to get them groomed, the groomer usually can tell(the one I use can anyway)..if it's very hard to brush, then most likely cottony, and if she hardly gets tangled, or if she does, and it's easy to comb through, then silky..were her parents silky or cottony? |

| Oh Debbie...Keisha is a gorgeous girl. As you well know I am far from an expert...but she looks silky to me...but then again her eyes reflect both colors so maybe that just throws out the whole eye color theory. Give her a big kiss from me and Winston...and Happy New Year to you!!!

Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | Well ....Chanel has alot of baby pics with the same eye color from the flash - don't know what to tell you but she is NOT silky LOL - I just finished baths....THIS is the diff in cottony vs silk - Cheri (silky) 15 minutes - Shampoo - condition - rinse - brush and blow dry Chanel (cottony) 30 minutes PLUS - Shampoo 2 times - then VERY good conditioning - rinse and rinse more - brush, blow dry, spray on Sea Breeze, and brush again |

| I don't really believe the eye shine color theory is very accurate. Destiny has a silky coat and her eyes shine green most of the time but I have seen them shine yellow and soft orange before. I believe it is the way the lighting hits their eyes. In my opinion you just have to really know the difference between the textures, you can't rely on eye color. By the way, Keisha is adorable!!!

| Mindy's is silky and most of the time her eyes will shine green but I've also captured them red. In her case she is definitely silky. I think your girls coat looks just like Mindy's. More then likely she has a silky coat.

| I haven't put much stock into the eye color thing. Bella has a silky coat and right now Coco has a cotton coat. Coco is still in full puppy coat but because she is Chocolate I am not thinking it will change to silk. Yours might be a modified coat, her hair on her head is reflecting light like it is silk and her body hair looks like it is cotton to me. She looks young though so i'm sure it's still possible it will be silk
