| For those who doubted my breeding! I am sure I am one of the most hated yorkie lovers on YT- but what else can I say? Those who swore that i should abort the puppies back 2 months ago b/c I made a mistake & didnt know how to properly tie my 2 yorkies, b/c it was my 1st time, well everything went swell, she ate her hard boiled eggs, cottage cheese & Osteo Form that the vet recommended, & she delivered 3 beautiful puppies on Thursday the 27th, they were all btwn 40 to 55 mins apart. We got 2 boys & a girl & they are beautiful, healthy & shes being an absolute wonderful mother. For those who doubted me.... I think i deserve an apology, were all humans & we make mistakes, everyone was once a rookie in the breeding field. We learn from them & only make a better & wiser choice the next time. I will keep in touch! Happy new Year everyone! |

Donating Senior Yorkie Talker | Congratulations I missed the original thread, but I am so happy to hear everything went well. I, too, am new to the breeding process and have received some critism for not being more well informed. I applaud your success.

| Since I'm one of the people that posted in the thread, I'll apologize. But my apology is not for the suggestions I made, but for the fact that it came across and you took it personally rather than the way the suggestions were intended. You are correct: we all start somewhere, all make mistakes and all learn valuable lessons from them. http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/sho...52#post1480352 When you posted about your breeding, you described several rookie mistakes that you are not the first to stumble across, but that are very serious issues and potentially harmful and life threatening to both your male and female. As with ANY female carrying a litter, regardless of breeder experience, there are lots of risks, including that of her life, that have to be considered. When you go into breeding blindly as you described, you increase those risks. That is just a fact. To suggest that she be spayed, aborting the possible litter was not meant as an insult to you and I am sorry if that is how you perceived it. It is a common piece of advice given to many, by many that all but ensures that the female will not experience complications and suffer during whelping. For some who find they are in over their heads, spay is a better option that they were unaware of and one they are more willing to take when compared to all the "what ifs" that could come with a litter of pups. That was all that was intended when the suggestion was made. I'm sure at this point you realize things that could have and should have been done differently, as we all do discover from time to time. I am very happy for you, the female and the pups that luck was on your side and this story had a happy ending. I am sure that you will have fun watching them grow and spoiling them in the meantime. It's a good way to end the year! |

| I'm glad everything went okay. Hopefully they'll continue to be healthy. Yes, everyone starts somewhere but it is always best to do your research before attempting to breed. I hope that you will learn from your experience and if you breed again that you'll do more research first. No one is perfect..everyone has made a mistake in their life..all we can do is learn from it and try to do better next time around. Good Luck

| Im glad all turned out good for the mommy dog and puppies. I didnt know what thread you was talking about until I went back to see, Yes I did say that you should never pour water on dogs that are stuck, why would you want them unstuck if you are breeding them and trying to get them apart cant hurt both dogs. But Im so happy to hear they are all doing good. |
