| ytca What Is Ytca Exactly? Are They A Part Of Akc? How Many People Does It Consist Of? Do They Take Votes From The Public On Matters Discussing The Changes They Make? Or It Is Just These People That Decide Out Of The Whole United States As To What A Yorkie Should Be And What Rules Should Be Follows?

Your last statement is correct. it's just a few people making decisions for all of us but AKC does follow their recommendations. | |

| Natalie, your question seems odd for someone who has been breeding show quality puppies and showing for the last 16 years not to know anything about YTCA. |

| club Somebody has to protect the breed and set the standard..don't see much of it among most breeders advertizing pups lately...a few weeks ago a breeder made the most ignorant of statements I have ever read on any forum...she did not care about the standard, she bred pets and it did not apply to her... |

| to answer the OP's question....the YTCA stands for...The Yorkshire Terrier Club of America. It's a body of people like any other club that sets the standard for the breed whether it be for conformation, obedience..ect... It has a code of conduct and a code of ethics that we stand proud of and stand behind! If anyone is interested the link has been provided. It's there to study and learn from. Those that advertise teacups and breed for tinies maybe they will learn from the site! I sure know I've learned alot and am still learning all about our wonderful breed! | Someone has to make decisions for the breed, don't they? As with any breed. What would be a better alternative? The YTCA is made up of a large enough group of people to be able to consider a very wide range of concerns regarding the breed, not just a few issues that benefit a select few. Who better to make those decisions than a group of people well educated on the breed that have proven themselves already? |

| breeder In defense of the poster..no where does she say she shows..she states on her site she has show quality puppies...there is a world of difference in actually finishing a champion, as opposed to breeding what you may feel has the potential to become a champion. If I paid $5000 for a puppy, it better be able to ask the judge for the ribbon... |

| Isnt that a picture of one of her dogs being shown? And if you dont show, how do you know if your puppies have been show quality for the last 16 years? Have any of the puppies produced won any titles? |
