| Breeder has not sent registration paper I purchased a 4 month old male yorkie from a breeder in Texas on November 19. I have been trying to get registrations papers from the breeder since then to no avail. The vet said my puppy has undescended testicles which I was not told about and her teeth do not look old enough for her supposed age. The breeder is responsive by email, but always with another excuse. I really want the papers to confirm his age and who his parents are. I love the dog and don't want to change that. I have read conflicting reports about the breeder on yorkie talk. I guess my question is if there is anyway to obtain his papers and can I report the breeder to the AKC or some other agency? |

| You know, I hear this all the time. I'll never understand why new owners don't get their papers before they leave with a pup. I register my litters around 2 or 3 weeks old and have their papers in my hands in a week or two. So I really don't understand the delay. you can try calling AKC to see if she has reg. the litter or not. Good luck. |

| my boys testicles did not desend until he was 7 months old some do not until a year of age so he is still a bit young. is he akc reg? if so, contact akc to see if she registered the litter. i am not positive but i think they can let you know this. pm me with the breeders name.

| One of my boys testicles descended at about eight months even after the vet said they wouldn't. so yes he is a little young. |

| I made the same mistake when I adopted Gizmo. I have a contract that states limited registration pending neutering. He's been neutered now, but I haven't sent the proof in to our breeder yet, so I might have trouble, I don't know. The papers haven't been important until now, but I'm thinking about starting him in agility, and I don't know if they have to have their AKC papers for that or not. Sorry to ramble, but I think waiting on papers is a mistake quite a few first timers (like me) make.

To the OP - a puppy's testicles should be in the scrotum by or soon after 6 weeks but it seems like for smaller breeds, it can be a little later. They really should already be there by 4 months but I'd give it another 2-3 months to see if they descend. I'd have him neutered at 6 or 7 months regardless of whether they've dropped or not.

| Registration papers I don't care if he is registered, I just want to know if he is the age the breeder says he is. Also, I know it was my responsibilty to get the registration papers, but it never occured to me to think someone would not be honest. The breeder has numerous show dogs so I assumed she was reputable. |

| I'm sorry you haven't gotten your paperwork! I got mine when I took McKenzie home with me. The breeder filled out the box that said limited registration as she's definitely too small to breed (and I don't want to). I didn't even know that it's a usual thing for people to wait for it. Hope you get it soon! |

| That's a shame! Why would a show breeder risk her reputation like that? OP If you signed a contract maybe something else could be done, such as getting some of your money back. |

| Awww that stinks, I'm in a similiar situation. I am disputing through paypal because I haven't received the registration papers for my last little girl. The breeder was ignoring my emails and then just outright lied about contacting me via phone and said I knew why there was a hold up. We are still in dispute but I have no idea how to go about finding out if her info she gave me in the dispute about the litter registration number and stuff is valid, or if that has anything to do with MY puppy and HER papers.
