| My babies loved royal canin puppy 33 and would eat nothing else for their first year. It was a little difficult finding them an adult food they would eat. I finally found Solid Gold "just a wee bits". But Royal Canin is a very good brand IMO.

| With RC, I would definately have a back up plan. There have been many here tell of bad reactions to the food, so I definately wouldn't recommend being stuck with that as her only option. (I know mine can't eat it.) I would also recommend whatever you decide to switch over to, do it gradually, not all at once. Give your dog time to adjust. I would suggest visiting the follwing site for links to helpful info on your quest to find the non-existant perfect diet: http://www.consumersearch.com/www/fa...d/reviews.html It will link you to some sites (dogfoodanalysis.com, animalark.com, dogaware.com fo name a few) that have compared various dog (and cat) foods, examined the companies that produce them and give you a brief overview of what you should know when searching for a commerical food. The links also examine raw and homecooked diets as well. Important to keep in mind though, the information on all of the sites are based on the opinions of the site editors, so take that for what it's worth. Many of them are also very one sided. They do however, mention publications that you could track down for even more info. |

| Thanks she is now 8 months old. What would you suggest? The breeder said she wouldnt eat anything else than complete nutrition puppy chow. She is very fussy and dont even like treats. I want to introduce her and bring her to a better dog food.

| Royal Canin used to be a wonderful high quality food way back when they were few and far between. It was hard to get here in the US, though. A few years ago Waltham started marketing it here in the US and changed the formula. They added cheap fillers like corn. As a result, pet shops that carry quality pet foods stopped carrying it. Chains like Petsmart primarily carry it now. Corn is one of the top three allergy causing ingredients in dogs. (The other two are wheat and soy) It's such a shame that they cheapened this once great pet food. |

| I feed it and all my yorkies love it! It just depends on the dog on what food to give. I can't give one of my yorkies Chicken Soup for the dog lovers soul he's allergic to it and that is a very high quality food so just because it's a high quality food doesn't mean every dog can eat it. Read the labels and decide what you want to feed your dog. Dogs are like people, somethings you can eat and some things you can't. I do however like RC very much! | I hear Innova is GREAT! I am just scared to change their food again since one of mine had an allergic reaction to Chicken Soup for the Dog Lover's Soul and since RC does them just fine I will continue to feed RC LOL. I did use to feed Puppy Pro Plan but the pups love the puppy RC. |

| I feel like Royal Canin is an okay food. Its not as bad as Science Diet or Iams, but not as great as Canidae, Solid Gold, Innova, etc. Do some research on the right food for you, and I'm sure you'll make a great decision.

Donating YT 2000 Club Member | We utilize California Natural Lamb & Rice Puppy food and then the adult food. Take your current bag to a quality, high end pet store--not petco or petsmart--and ask them to find you a similair nutritional food for your puppy. |

| Carrots are good to use as treats. If you are looking for a food for her coat, I feed Nutro Natural for that. (For the Glucosamine, which is also good for joint health.) Mine cannot eat alot of the higher end organic foods, so that is the next best thing. Also, Flax Seed oil added to the food is good for the coat as well. Studies also indicate it is beneficial for preventing certain types of cancer (in people too!). I like the Barlean's brand...you can order it online. |

| I do not like RC at all. Ellie had a allergic reaction to it (the itchies). The ingredients aren't as good as some others brands and it is way overpriced for the quality. The only food that I can wholeheartedly recommend is homecooked. I think it is best. There are okay kibbles out there (Innova, Wellness, Natural Balance) but I prefer canned food if you have to feed dog food. Whatever you switch to, please do it gradually.

| We used to use RC as well, and Maddie's allergies were HORRIBLE with the food. She broke out in a rash and had dry skin constantly, even though they loved the food... But once I figured out the problem I located a food she loves even MORE than RC...Innova Small Bites...it's a little rich so you have to make the transition slowly, but my babies LOVE it!! |

| My vet switched me to Royal Canin when Cash started eating around the Eukanuba that his breeder had mixed into his food. He loves it - and I have just started my new puppy diamond on it as well, per my vet! Cash has been on it for the past couple of months and hasn't had any bad reactions. Guess it just depends on the dog:-)! |
