| Eating Habits Hello Everyone and Merry Christmas, I have a 5 month (7/5/07) old Yorkie her name is Phatty; I have been feeding her "Cesar" brand canned dog food, about 3.5oz, 3x a day now (breakfast/Lunch/Dinner). I am wondering If I am over feeding her as I see many posts saying they feed their dogs 2x during breakfast and dinner. I love my puppy and dont want to over feed her, let alone under feed her, my concern is she eats the 3.5oz withing 2-3minutes, and is still looking for more. I would love some feedback on how many times I should feed her, and the choice of food also "Cesar", she seems to enjoy the food, but her breath smells like it all day afterwards. Also her bowl movements are soft most of the time. Thank you all, take care. |

YT 500 Club Member | Hello and welcome. Most of us here feed canidae, wellness, merricks ect. The soft bowel movements are most likely for the wet food. I personally only give wet food once a day if at all. Feeding dry will create poop that is not so soft. I feed Canidae dry and Merricks/canidae wet. I also Home cook. I think that a well balanced diet of dry and wet is better for our little onces. The dry food also cleans their teeth when they chew it up. If your puppy doesn like the dry just moisten it up with water

| Cesar is not a good brand of dog food. I would look for a premium canned food.

| Hi! Welcome to YT! Cesar is really not a good food to feed her exclusively. I think it is too rich and does not have enough of the requirements they need...it just tastes real good to them! I will sometimes add just a little bit of it (tablespoon) to a premium dry food and mix it around. It helps my 'picky' one eat the dry food. Also, try mixing a little chopped green beans to the dry food if she does not want to eat it plain. I think most people feed twice a day. How is her weight? Good luck!

| Cesar is awful food, made from the waste of the human food industry. Please read this article from the Animal Protection Institute and find out what is really in those pet foods you buy at the grocery store: http://www.api4animals.org/facts.php?p=359&more=1 |

| Welcome to YT. Ceasar isn't really a good food. I only feed dry kibble. I feed Chicken Soup for the dog Lovers Soul. Mine love it. Hope that helps. Also there is a chart that analyzes different dog food on the forum, which should help you out.
