| Frustated I am a bit frustrated.. but I know this is normal behavior.. I take Rudy to his pee pad and stand over or sit next to him and tell him to go potty... he does everything but go.. take him back do it again and nothing... one minute later off he goes and pees.. I have been telling him NO in a firm voice and taking back to pee pad .. Can I do anything else? This doesnt happen every time but I would say 50 % of the time.... I am puzzled is he trying to tell me something Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated..

Luvs Lulu Donating Member | He is young still and will take time. I suggest the next time you catch him peeing on the floor take the pad and wip up the pee so it's scented and then take him to the pad and tell him pee/piddle here. They are very smart and do learn to understand what you are saying. Sorry to tell you this but it will take a bit of time for him to learn. These toy dogs seem to take a good bit of time to learn. Lulu was fully housebroken by eight months (she goes outside) and once in an eon with mitigating circumstances she will have an accident in the house. Consistency and patience is the key there. Also be sure to really clean the spot that he pees on so get the smell out.

Donating YT 30K Club Member | Dixie is doing the same. I put her in the pad and she tries to get off. I will sit there for 5-6 minutes and then give up and sure enough she walks away and pees. So now I sit there longer when possable and if she doesn't go I pick her up and hold her until I can sit and put her down again, usually 5-10minutes and try the pad again, most times she goes. I have 3 other dogs so I can't sit with her indefinatley as the others are barking to go out etc. It just takes time and patience. It will come!!!

| You know what i did with Apollo when i brought him home ? Of course i should mention, my Breeder started the peepad process.... I live with my Mom as she is older and we keep each other company, she never been fond too much of animals until my two and she fell in love and it was importand that they dont potty in house, sooo i set up a little xpen in my room only big enough for a little bed and a peepad, i was afraid he would potty in my bed, so i was going to have him sleep in there, but after him crying for about 10 min i felt sorry for him as i knew he probebley missed his Mommy and Siblings, soo i took him out and let him come to Bed with Rosi and i. He snuggled right up to me and fell asleep. Well i get up every night anyway once or twice, each time i would put him in his xpen and by the time i come back from Bathroom he went potty on his pad. He knew when he went potty he got to come back to bed with us he picked that up pretty quick after about a month i was able to take xpen down and he would go to the same spot where his peepad was. I still keep one there in case for those times ... allthough he goes outside too ! Keeps peace around our house Good luck !
