| How many yorkies is too many??? Hello Everyone ~~ after many weeks on YT, which I love, I am now banking on getting some help from everyone. I have one purebred yorkie named Maggi, and two Morkie (maltese/yorkie mix) named Hannah & Beanie. I love my girls ~~ They are my life ~~ My Maggi had a litter of pups on April 8th...4 males and 1 female. I have sold all but one little boy. I am so attached to this little guy but 4 dogs.... isnt that too much? My problem now is that I go back and forth with "should i sell him, shouldn't i sell him" and I don't know what to do... At this point I would only be able to sell him to someone just like me. Someone who spoils their dogs rotten and allows them to sleep in the bed. It is a heartbreaking decision to make but part of me feels if I do try and sell him he will get ALL the attention he deserves. My girls are angels, very good dogs and so is he but I feel trying to divide my attention between 4 dogs, may just be a little nutso!! What should I do ?? How do I find someone just like me who is looking for another dog? He was in the paper for a few weeks, but it just seems I am getting people who just want a little dog to carry around and look cute with but I want a family for him, with playmates and plenty of time to spoil him rotten......................SHOULD I JUST KEEP HIM??????????????

Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | I'd say keep him as you already have a houseful - but then again - there could be an AWESOME person in NJ looking for a baby boy just like him where he can have a whole new family - and be spoiled silly ...I konw - NO HELP !!! If it were me and I was already in love - I'd keep him. |

| I'd have to keep him. Their so easy to get attached to. Unless you find someone really special I wouldn't let him go. |

| I used to have four dogs together for 14 years... I coped and am still here, a bit insane maybe but still here ... as long as your dogs all get on (and don't forget this can change as the pup matures) then it's heaven and great fun to have a big family! Only you know what to do.. I get a feeling that you are not going to push to sell this little one though..?!! Good luck whatever you decide, love, Ana xx

| are you going to have him neutered? Something to think about - Is he going to be after those girls? That could drive a person wacko!

| I say keep him! What is one more when you already have 3 others? I have 4 dogs (2 males- neutered, 2 females)- the only problem I have with having so many is taking walks- we have to take turns. Other than that they are great- they all get along great and keep each other company (there is always someone to play with!). Since he was raised in your household, he probably already knows all "the rules". This may not be true for all dogs- so don't anyone take offense- but my 2 boys both seem to be way more loving and affectionate. The girls are affectionate when THEY want to be loved on ... the boys are ALWAYS ready for some attention... |

| By the way, ybamik76, I know how you feel- we used to raise boxers and although each one is special in their own way- there was this one pup that I just really took a fancy too. He wasn't by any means the best marked out of the litter, but he had the sweetest, most loving personality out of any of our puppies. I was just sick worrying about where he might end up and we just couldn't keep another dog... so we knew of a good family who wanted a boxer in a bad way, but really couldn't afford to purchase one so we sold him to them at a "discounted price"- we have never regretted it. We are happy now knowing he is where he deserves to be with a good loving family. I know- that probably doesn't help your decision... but it is another option. |

| Part of me wants to say I will adopt him and love him to pieces but I have a 5 month old boy (yorkie) and I don't know a)How Maximus will feel about that and b) How my boyfirend will feel about that...lol..we already have 1 bedhogger who give us a tiny corner of what has become his bed with us..lol. I would say keep him but 4 dogs is alot and I could understand if you were unable to...good luck and the right decision will come!!!

| No doubt about it. KEEP HIM. He will be the bratty little brother to all his big sisters. You will know if you have too many dogs, when you look around and there is no place to sit. What's one more mouth to feed? They don't eat much, and take up very little space. If your heart has room for 3, then one more will even it up.

| I agree with everyone! Keep him. One more wouldn't hurt. IMO the boys are the best! But either way if you keep you'll spoil him if you don't you'll find a perfect family for him to be loved.

Yorkie Lover Donating Member | I would say to KEEP him as well...he sounds like a great addition to your other three girls and what is one more if you already have three...plus it will even everything out, you won't have one that is left out, they will each have a partner....but you have to do what is right for you family and your other pups...if you do sell him, sell/give him to someone close to you, so you can see him all the time!!! That is my aunt did, she gave me her favorite out of her first litter because she wanted to still stay in touch and love her!!!!

| I think you should keep him if you really want, but maybe a nice home would be good for him too. Somewhere that he won't have to share his attention and affection with others. Maybe a couple that would treat him as their baby. I think 4 doggies would be so hard. I know it's just one more dog, but it's a big addition. It might be more fair to him to get him to a good home where he will be spoiled and loved to pieces too. JMO but if you are in love, then you are in love! It's easy to fall in love..hehe

| I think 2 dogs is enough for me possibly 3. That's why I have 4. Don't ask me the logic. But I think after so many dogs, what is one more. Keep the puppy. |
