| Wanna Hear What I Heard Today??? This is really long but I wanted to give you some background first... I went round to my very good friends house this afternoon to exchange our Christmas gifts. He's the most intelligent and most successful out of all my friends but knows very little when it comes to pets and therefore counts on me to answer his questions etc. At the begining of last year he asked my advice on his GF getting a dog. My friend doesn't like dogs very much but would rather go for a dog than a cat but nontheless he wasn't struck on the idea of getting a dog at all. His GF had been going on and on about getting dog from the first and only time I took Gypsy over when she was around 4-5months old. His GF wanted something little and cute that she could carry around with her, she kept mentioning a Chiuaua and how nice it would to be able to take the dog everywhere with them. My friend tried to point out that shops weren't as understanding over here as in the US and she certainly wasn't Paris Hilton and therefore stood no chance of being able to take the dog everywhere. After talking to me and me pointing out all the time someone would need to be at home while the dog was a puppy, (she works shifts between 8am - 10pm and he works 9am - 5pm or upto 8pm) he decided that it was a definate 100% NO on getting a dog. Two days later he phones me again... he'd come home the night before and even though he'd firmly said that there was no way they were getting a dog she'd spent her whole day researching and spoken to her parents who don't work and arranged that they would come up and let the dog out etc while they were working. She'd even worked out the cost of food costs, vets bills, etc... so he then felt that he couldn't say no and that he would have to get her a dog because of all the answers to every reason he'd given for not getting one. So now he wanted to know which breed would be better and that she had mention a King Charles Spaniel. I pointed out their well known health problems and said that other than that it would probably be an ideal breed for them to get. A few days later they had found a breeder with a litter and were going to travel to pick up a little boy at the weekend for a very reasonable price and the pup was registered with papers too. Today was the first time I've seen this dog who is now 11months because his GF and I don't see eye to eye, she finds me a threat to her relationship with my friend because of our closeness which I understand but she's not made an effort to get to know me. So anyway, today I met Milo and he's happy enough to see people but will NOT come anywhere near them for a fuss and even if you get down low and on the floor he will not come to you, yes, I made THAT much effort to befriend this dog that I got down on the floor at 37wks pregnant! Milo wakes in the night at 4am and whines and barks because no one is up and he climbs all over the glass coffee table and has scratched it all over... other than that he seems a perfectly normal, happy, healthy dog and even my friend has warmed to him. So we're sat talking about Milo and I'm trying VERY hard to befriend him and trying to get him to show an interest in his toys when my friend says that his GF is starting to talk about getting Milo a little playmate. He pulls a face at this and states she was luck enough to get one dog and that there was no way two were going to live in his house... like I said, he's not a dog person. I asked him what kind of dog she wanted and he said, "Something I've not heard of before... you'll probably know what one is though... a Teacup Terrier..." Needless to say I gave him a lecture on that and said that whatever he does, if they decide to get another dog, not to get one of those....

| Well, hopefully he learned from what you told him and won't be looking for a "teacup".

| Hopefully, not... I googled "Teacup Terrier" when I got home and it was ALL Yorkies.
