| Oh No!! I found a mouse in my house this morning and when I started looking in the cracks a crevases I found mouse poop around my dog food! There is no hole in the bag, but it's not sealed either!! His treats do have a hole in them. So, that means the mouse has probabaly been in his food! Casn he catch diseases from this. Do I need to throw away his food!? |

| If it were me, I would throw away the food and call to get the house sprayed for pests. I wish I had some knowledge about diseases, but I don't. I would just want to be safe. One thing is for sure----there usually is not just one mouse!

| Throw it out and make sure you store dog food in a plastic storage container from now on. |

| Yes, throw it out. Like Ladymom said, you should store his food in an air tight container, that way mice, ants, etc will not be able to get into his food. |

| You're lucky you didn't get food moths/weebles. Those are the worst. They get into your cupboards and into your rice, cereal, etc. They can be terrible to get rid of. |

| Definitely throw the food and treat out. And buy a airtight container to put the new food in.

| Definitely throw the food out...but I hate to say, if there's no mice around...they COULD have been eaten...Yorkies original purpose was to catch mice and rats... |

Donating Yorkie Yakker | Oh No My Mom hopefully just got rid of her M problem, I feel for you! I would probably inspect the bag-if no tears, I would then put the food in a rubbermaid container(there I go again) to store it. |

| UUGGHH! Thanks guys. Mouse traps have been set and the dog food and treats have been thrown out. I will be buying yet another bag tomorrow and a big plastic container. This is a huge bag I just purchased last week It's a higher end food and wasn't cheap. That's why I didn't really want to throw it away. But I don't want my little guy to catch anything He's only a puppy so I doubt he'll catch the mice for me, but I sure do wish he could help out! I had a spider problem in my first apartment and my Silky used to help me catch those ( I hate spiders!) So, here we go. I am totally grossed out right now and will be spending tomorrow scrubbing my floors in disinfectant, shampooing my carpets, and throwing out 9/10's of the food in my pantry |

| I'd throw it away. You can get plastic bins at Walmart for keeping dog food in, and the mice out.

| I hate to tell you this but mice can chew through plastic. They can chew through anything. You will need to get a medal trash bin to keep them out . There is really no reason for you to throw out the dog food. We live in the middle of a hay pastor and we get mice all the time (The price we pay for living on 500 acres) set some traps !!!
