| I would take him with you since you just got him and that sounds like an option. Yorkies are easy to travel with and he will be less stressed if he is with you. How old is he and when did you get him? Where are you going on vacation and for how long? I am not being nosy...it's just these all have to do with making this decision. |

| We got Cooper on May 6th and left on May 19th to go to see my son before he went to Iraq. We didn't have the option of taking both Carter and Cooper with us as the airplane was too small and would only accomodate one carryon pet. We left Cooper with one of my daughter's friends for those 5 days and he did great! He was treated just as good there as he would have been with us. Even at the wee age of 11 1/2 weeks, he only had 2 accidents in the entire 5 days. Whewww! If you can find a really good friend that would take very good care of your pup or a family member that is an animal lover, I'd leave him if it is a problem to take him along with you.

| Before you take him Before you make the decision as to whether to take him or not, please consider the following: Does he have ALL of his vacinnations Is he old enough and big enough to be on flea/tick/mite/heartworm medications to protect him from these things far from home? Does he eat well enough that if strange surroundings make him stressed, he will not get dehydrated or hypoglycemic? Will he be exposed to close and/or large amounts of strangers, water sources, etc. What if you want to go somewhere that he is not allowed, what type of arrangements are available? All of the above should be carefully considered prior to your decision. |
