| Sadie's knees pop Hi Everybody, my Sadie is 4.5 months old. I have noticed in the last few weeks that her knees pop. it does NOT sound good and i'm worried...I have read on hear about LP and i really don't want her to go through that but i don't know how to help her. It doesn't really bother her that i've noticed. Only once has she walked around with her leg up. And that is b/c she was trying to walk a curb like a balance beam and her back let slipped off...but she didn't do it but a second. The vet said "oh, it's just her knees. They pop in and out of place. Most Yorkies do that" That answer didn't suit me so i will be taking her to a different vet and getting a second opinion. Does anyone have any advice.... |

LP doesn't fix itself, it only gets worse, and being that she has already started to carry her leg, well, I think you may see more of that My advice is to see an Ortho Specialist - they will tell you as it is. | |

| The vet told me that most yorkies have this because their knee socket is so shallow but that unless you notice them walking around a lot with their leg up it's OK. Most will pop out and pop right back in. Only a problem if they seem to be in pain or not able to walk. It is not good for them to be over weight either.

| Thanks Guys for the help! i am going to take her to a specialist. But so far i have noticed any pain from her. however, we did get her a new bed that is flat so she doesn't have to crawl in. I will also watch her weight closely. So far we are almost 2.5 lbs. |
