He has bred before and tied to one of our females. I just cant figure it out |

| It may have hurt a little when the tie was broken so your boy may not want to try this girl again for awhile. Also, he may dislike or be intimidated by the girls owner and thus will not try. The few times that I have done stud service, I kept the girl for about a week. That way, the dogs got to know one another and breeding time was usually early in the morning or in the evening. If my stud is shorter than the girl, I fold a towel for him to stand on so he can reach her. I never have the owner of the bitch help because its too distracting for the stud and bitch. I like to breed them during a quiet, calm part of the day. |

| She probably hurt him when she broke the tie if they were actually already tied. That's why you need to hold the girl during the breeding. This has ruined many a good stud dog. Some of them will never breed again. |

| When I used to breed Bichons, my male was so true to my female. I know it is common for the female to come to the male's home, but my male would never touch another female at our house. But he had no problem servicing the female at her house -- we always said he was true blue to his mate

| I've always left my female when I had a female studed. You want them to get use to the female with out any distractions. They don't always feel comfortable around another person they don't know. They are private in some ways also.
