| Pet Insurance I do not recommend the ASPCA pet health insurance. My vet even called and talked to them today and they are still refusing to cover my pup. I thought I was doing so good by getting insurance for her and it was just a waste of $366.00. That money could have went towards her health care that I am going to have to be paying. We will be ok and I will take care of my sweetie, but I don't want anyone else to waste their money with this company. Find a better insurance for you pets. |

| Could you tell us what happened (if you don't mind)? I don't like pet insurance companies so far. They cover some stuff but they leave out so much that it is almost not worth it at all. I like care credit. Have you looked into that?

| pet insurance is a waste of money!! what i recomend people to do is to look into how much they would have to pay for insurance every month and instead of buying it, put that money into a savings account. then you will have that money building up and available in case your pup gets sick AND you can earn interest on it! why give your money to some big company when you can make it work for you??? |

| Well, I would agree that many pet insurance companies are a huge ripoff. But I do have to say that although it is a good idea to put money away for a rainy day, what happens when you have been saving for only two months and then something (God forbid) catastrophic happens? You may only have $200 saved and the bill is $2000!!! If you can find a good pet insurance compnay, you have full coverage from day one. That means if something happens to your baby the next day, you will be covered for thousands of dollars that you wouldn't have been able to save up for. To me, that is the benefit of having insurance for Kiwi. It would take me a long time to save up the $25,000 she is covered for per year. I also chose not to get her preventative coverage, so I have a smaller monthly premium and then I save up for her shots and physicals and stuff like that and do those on my schedule. I have to say that her insurance company saved us lots of money when she went through her liver shunt testing and surgery for a liver biopsy.

| I was just referred to Embrace Pet. Ins. by another YT member. She highly recommended it. Of course it doesn't cover the small things, but she said she's thankful she's had it with some of the health problems her yorkie has had.

| She had coccidia when I first got her. She was treated for that and hasn't had a problem with it for well over the 30 day waiting period. They are now saying that my vet can not prove the problems she is having now are not caused by the coccidia. They also said the waiting period is extended to 160 days after my vet told them we did go past the 30 day waiting period until she had these new problems and that she does not feel these are at all associated with the coccidia. They refused to pay for her hospital visit, the medications, bile tests and liver biopsy and any future GI problems. |

| That is too bad When I get my little one, I would like to get some sort of insurance for her, but I have been confused on which one.

| Bruce has the VPI superior plan with the routine healthcare endorsement which costs $19 per month, but I just pay all at once for the year and get a bit of a discount for doing so. It has actually been well worth it. Not only has it reduced the cost of his advantix and heart guard to less than 1/4 the regular price, but I only pay $10 for his annual physical and booster shots. It has also really came in handy for the following: LP surgery (total cost $3400) insurance covered $1350 Root Canal due to his bite deformity to shorten a tooth $1200, insurance covered $900.00 2 times at the emergency vet they covered %100

| Bruce was neutered prior to purchasing the plan. I actually only purchased it because he had been stung by a bee and the emergency vet was outragoulsy high priced! Over the past 2 years I have paid $600 for coverage and it has saved me well over $8,000k if you count the routine stuff. They even gave me $200 to get him a more comfortable crate to rest in after the LP surgery.

| I agree that you can save but reality is that you never know what and when something could happen and having insurance gives you a little bit more peace of mind. I also did not go with an insurance company that covered routine care. I insured my pup with Pet Plan. $50 deductible and 0% co-pay. You have to option to up the deductible and % of co-pay if you want to lower your premium. I went to www.petinsurancereview.com to read reviews of all the pet insurance companies before choosing this one. |
