| I always wait until around 1.5 years. Better safe than sorry in my view.

| I switched Gracie at one year, thought she was done growing. Well, she grew more during the next 6 months. If you feed an all stages food, it should not be a problem switching but I think I would wait till your puppy is 1 year old. That is what my vet recommended.

| Within a day or two of getting Cozy (16 weeks) she decided that she did not want puppy food even though it was what the breeder was feeding her. Cozy discovered Lucky's (golden) Kibble. He has always been good about sharing with others. If the cats or Cozy stand by him he will drop kibble on the floor for them. Cozy refused to eat puppy food once she tasted Lucky's food. Vet said it was okay as long as she was not loosing weight and was eating. Plus vet know I supplement with fruit, vegetables, chicken, and beef as well as eggs, milk, and cheese.

| Benji was on puppy food for a little longer than he should have been but we waited to switch him until Bella was a year old.

| I always thought it was 1 yr. My vet told me to switch my Mini Schnauzer because he said Puppy food is more fattening. I had left her on it past a year because she had tummy trouble when I switched, but the vet thought it was making her fat.

| Pixie is on the Royal Canin..they do one especially for Yorkshire Terriers and it says from 10 months old so i will probably switch her to that then, she's 6 months old now.

| I think switching at about a year is a good idea. I think before that they need the extra nutrients in the puppy food.
