I am not taking this so serious way, but just a complain, nothing else.

however, I just would like to know my rights. as, I am sure, all of us.

WHY they didn't show a store policy?
If nothing said about pets in a store policy, WHY they didn't let me inside and will they be punished?

that's all .
thanks

Well, I guess I am a little opposite on this as I can see bothe sides of the story. But, most stores have a strict no animal poilcy that is overlooked by friendly employees that know their customers. I understand that there was no need for any rudeness towards you and your husband, but, a majority of the stores world wide have a no animal poilcy except for service dogs. So, maybe the security guard was trying to enforce the rules...and also how did he know that you were going in that particular store? Is that the only one in that part or is it a strip mall? (Please don't take this as being rude, just trying to understand the situation a little better).

I sort of always assume that animals are not allowed, no sign posted or not. It's kind of like the "no shoes, no shirt, no service" rule in my book. It isn't posted, but you wouldn't go into a store topless .

I am guilty of bringing Mckenzie into a store or two with me like Jo Anns or Marshalls if I am just running in and out and I've never had a problem, but if they asked me to leave I would understand.

If I need to take her somewhere I always call ahead and ask (except for the few times I've run in places).

It stinks we can't take our babies everywhere, but really if they let one person do it... they need to let others do it. I was in Jo Anns the other night and a woman had her dog riding along in the shopping cart. Now to me, this was fine. I ooh'd and aah'd.... but I could see how to others that would be unacceptable. Not everyone is a dog person.

I'm sorry if you were treated rudely, but they were probably just trying to do their job. It's sad but many people don't have a high customer service level, or he may have had a bad day and have not explained himself well.

I'm sorry they were rude to you I usually take Lacy almost everywhere with me too, and I've only been stopped once at Target when they quit allowing pets. But I've never had a problem anywhere else.

correct. the only one, and my husband dropped me off just of the front door.

I do understand about animal policy, but I am upset more about customer survice .

Recently, a security lady didn't let me inside IREA store. That's fine. A sign on the door "only service dog", but I didn't see it.

I think there is a huge difference between a dog being zipped in a stroller or a carry bag and one just being walked into a store on a leash. I don't see how a dog that is zipped into a bag or stroller can offend anyone??!? People rarely even know Kalina is in my "handbag" unless she makes noise. That's just MHO. I also think that power goes to the head of some people and they like the fact that they can say NO and you have to abide by it.

I think you are right ! IMXO, if behavior of security guy was not such almost defiant ("I am boss here"), if I didn't see a smile that made me feel like I am an idiot with dog in stroller, if I didn't see how the manager was reacting, how she interrupted me....Btw, I did not yell or scream

I would leave with saying nothing.

sorry, for some reason i cannot make a poll .

because of this discussion, i would like to see how many of yorkie's owners go shopping with their babies. I would like to see %%%%%, not just answers.... .

I will appreciate it very much if any of you can do this for me.

I would like to see following options:

- I love my yorkie, but never take her/him with me to shopping. Dog is a dog, and should't be in any stores.
- I take my yorkie everywhere with me, even hide sometimes if pets are not allowed. My dog in stroller/carrier inside.
- I take my dog only to those stores where dogs allowed.

any more options? let's make a POLL

I agree - I used to shop Ross all the time - now it's a pain in the bootie - lines are always WAY too long and the customer service sucks - I know they're underpaid there but still - their JOB is to offer customer service not act like they're being tortured into working there -

that sucks what happened to you - especially if your baby was in a stroller - man - talk about being ANAL

I agree.

I would just assume that dogs weren't allowed unless otherwise stated that they were. Although I don't think it was necessary to big rude, I don't see what the big deal is? What exactly would you like from the situation?

I wouldn't put up with that kind of customer service either. We are there to spend our hard earned money! Without us, they wouldnt have a paycheck!
Here's what you do. Get the address to the corporate offices and send a letter of exactly what happened to you. Explain exactly what she said to you. The manager needs to be reprimanded by her superiors. Customer service is not what it used to be!

I like to shop at Ross for the bargains, but the associates are awful. There's always a long line, and if they get any slower they'd stop. I only go there if it looks pretty empty. If the line is long I usually just leave my cart, and leave the store.
