| Scared silly and then some I left work early today as my parents were coming for the weekend. It was a gorgeous day today as my Mom and I set out to take Max for a walk. My next door neighbor has a bloodhound named Merlin that generally is a pain to everyone in the neighborhood. As we walked past his yard (something I do 2x each day) he jumped his fence like he does often except this time he charged us. He came full speed after my little Max, hit him and sent him tumbling over and over. Max started screaming at almost the same time I picked him up. At this point Merlin came after me and almost knocked my Mom over in the process. I kicked him as hard as I could and he took off. While still shaking in my shoes, I tried to quiet Max and make sure he was OK (he THANKFULLY is fine). I then went in the house and called Animal Control and they were here within 10 mins. After all of this, I still had to take my little guy for a walk so he could take care of business. We went down my walk way thinking he would probably be afraid to go by Merlin’s house again. In true Yorkie fashion, he turned to the left and pranced his way past Merlin's house and then on his regular route like nothing happened. LOL! Everyone be careful on walks with your furbabies!

| I worry about dogs attacking us all the time. I have seen so many loose dogs around the neighborhood that I have started driving them to a park and walking on the path. If I see someone coming with a dog I sometimes change my direction and walk off the path. Teddy was nipped once by a loose dog while we were walking in the neighborhood and the authorities don't want to be bothered with it here. That same dog continues to run the neighborhood loose.

| I'm sorry this happened to you. What a scare! I'm afraid of our neighbors rottie. If it sees Tilly it goes crazy. There is no form of animal control around here so I don't know what I'd do if it ever got her, besides be really mad. I always give the owners a crappy look because the dog doesn't need to be in our apartment complex to begin with. Poor dog.

| OH NO!! Poor baby Max and poor you. It's always a fear to be attacked by another dog while on a walk. I'm just so glad that you all were ok afterwards. It's happened to us before, so we always have to be on the lookout.

| Thanks everyone for the kind wishes and welcomes! Max acts like nothing has happened except now when Merlin barks, he runs to the door and barks back. LOL! Animal control left a card for the neighbors to call. The officer said he checked around the house and the fence was too low in two places. He said he would give them 30 days to raise it but, didn't mention what would happen if they did not. One good thing that happened is I am far more careful when walking him now.

| Walking Dangers Luck would have it that I live on a farm far from others but, for those days that we do drive to town for lessons on walking with distractions I always take their body guard with them. His name is King lovingly known as Puttz he weighs in at 110 pounds and thinks that my Yorkies are his bestest friends, he even took on a Coyote that came into our yard one evening when we were on the patio.
