| 4 month wait for groomer! I 'thought' i had found a groomer, i saw a really nice cut on a yorkie last week and asked the owner where they have him groomed, they gave me the number of a 'mobile' groomer. I just phoned cos i want Buddys hair just tidied up a bit, mainly cos i'm not sure he can see anything theres so much hair in his face!! anyway...... she said...she was booked up til November! so i said right ok... well i best book him for November and she gave me a date which was a Monday, so i said i couldnt do Mondays cos i worked and she said.. well i ONLY come to your area on a Monday so there isnt a choice! she didnt even sound friendly, god knows how she books up that far in advance. anyway back to looking for a decent groomer, either that or i'l have to have a go myself

Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | It's HARD finding a groomer - I once went to a woman who didn't have much in the way of personality - and I hoped maybe she was better with animals than people - WRONG - she hurt my Chanel - I was PO'D like you can't believe - I know she was rough because Chanel cried when I touched her side - so warning - Don't GO unless you feel VERY comfortable - I took Chanel out just her and I... and we did drop ins on 4 different groomers one day - we just walked around - met the groomers and left without appointments - then later I called the one we liked - but her 2nd visit resulted in another poor cut - so like I said - It's VERY hard to find a good groomer - keep looking - and good luck ! |

I do believe you may be right Pat. It is very hard to find a good groomer. I was so lucky to get an appointment with one of the best groomers in North Central Texas. I was told that this lady was the very best, but good luck if you can get in. Well, Maggie is in and I hope to stay.

| grooming I have spend some cold, wet summers in England..we won't even talk about the winters..we had a big, old house with no central heat, no one had it in then..my job was to bring the coal in from the bins and keep them full. Anyone feeling sorry for me yet? LOL Shades of Oliver Twist..but it was a good childhood and a very happy one. Florida will at least be warm, but we are getting alot of rain also. |

| Lyn, I am in a similar situation. We have one groomer near us, and they do a good job, but they keep the dogs for 4-6 hours. Owners are not allowed to stay and watch or wait. The dogs are caged for awhile before being groomed. I am afraid to make an appointment there because the groomers there have to be hurting the dogs or something if you aren't allowed to stay and watch/wait. We once tried a mobile groomer with Riley and she did a HORRIBLE job! Riley looked really bad. We are just letting Riley's hair grow out for right now, but TJ really needs a trim. We don't know where to go or what to do. I would do it myself, but I have absolutely no clue how. Anyone know of a good safe breeder in Lake County, Ohio? |
