| New puppy- need some advice Georgie, my 4 year old male is having trouble adjusting to the new little girl. He barks, snarls and snaps at her whenever she comes near, won't go outside with her and is very pissed right now. BUT it's only been two days. Do you think he'll ever warm up to her or have I made a huge mistake getting a second yorkie? Have you ever been through this? Any tips for making this transition go more smoothly? I really wanted him to have a furry friend. On a happier note, I've added a picture of the new baby girl. I'm so in love. |

| I have a cocker spaniel who is 13 and he is getting better already (4 days) he groans and moans and acts scared but he is I think playing hard to get... right now they are both laying on Floyd's(Cocker) big pillow and very content . We also have 3 cats and that is going well too .. so give it time.. it does work out..

| Thanks everybody! I know it's a huge adjustment for Georgie, now he has to share his parents, his bed, his home and his yard. I guess considering all that he's doing pretty good. haha Poor little girl, she was so excited to see Georgie when we brought her home. She ran to him like, "Yes! They have another yorkie!" And he rejected her. |

| Thats so funny, I'm actually going through the same thing. I got a new male pup on Sunday night. I have a female that is a year old and she is very jealous. I bought him to breed and also to be a playmate for Daisy. Max(the pup) wants to play with her so bad and she sometimes growls or just ignores him. He jumps up at her face and just loves her. Last night and this morning they played tug-a-war! so cute! My main thing is that I am treating Daisy just as she was treated before I got the pup. Does your little girl cry all night? Mine cries most of the night. Its terrible. and then he wants to sleep a lot during the day. Any suggestions?!? Good luck and Im sure they will be best buds! Angie, Daisy , and Max |

| Welcome to YT! Your baby is beautiful! Make sure you spend some extra time with Georgie so he doesn't feel like she took over his place.

| I don't know where your yorkies sleep but both of mine sleep in bed with me. I'm sure if I put her in a crate she would cry. But at bedtime the new little girl just passes right out. Maybe try keeping her awake more then she'd like during the day? |

| Hi! Thanks. Georgie does need more attention, it's been a challenge this week with my husband gone on a busness trip. He gets home today, I really need an extra set of hands and another lap before Georgie gets resentful. He hasn't been neglected or anything, just not smothered like he's accustomed to. |

| I got a new baby about 3 weeks ago. My 9 mo old (zoey) loves other dogs so she was excited. She got a little jealous, but I always pick up Zoey first when I come home. I always give Zoey her treat before the puppy. We made an extra effort to give her attention. Zoey loves the baby. She sleeps with her head resting on top of the baby like she is protecting her. Im sure your boy will come around. He just has to be sure he is still top dog. Cindy (Chattiesmom) warned me that I would have to let them "work it out" between themselves as long as the puppy was not being hurt. She was right. Now they are best buds!!
