| Thinking about getting another baby!!! Sorry so long! So I have thought long and hard about this and I really am thinking about getting another one. This time around I would like a girl...hehe. I am capable of not having to worry about leaving Parker at all right now but come the fall semester I am going to be going back to school to finish up. I don't see where I wouldn't be gone all that long (for school) but I know that he will have to be home alone regardless. And that thought just saddens me because I cannot stand leaving him alone for more then a few hours at a time. My husband and I went Christmas shopping yesterday and Parker was home alone for over 8 hrs (he has the whole kitchen free to roam don't worry ) But when we got home my poor baby was crying and crying and even when we got in the door I laid on the ground to gave him so much love he was still whimpering. Not only him being upset but I was having anxiety while shopping because I missed him so much. In that very moment I decided that I want another one for (me of course..lol) but for him. Someone his size he can play rough with, someone he can bond with, and someone he will always have to be with him regardless to if I am home or not. I even have a 3 bed room house with only my husband and I in it with plenty of room for more babies (I want many more, but 2 would be suitable for now) David, my husband, even suggest making one of the rooms Parkers room. But I told him there is no way he would use it he only wants to be with us, never away...anyways with that being said I am wondering how you guys feel? Suggestions as to who I could talk to about getting a new baby? All of that stuff. I have found someone here in AZ, but isn't a breeder and well I don't know about that?? So anything you guys would like to add as suggestions, comments, or just your experience in adding a new baby to your family! We are very ready and money isn't an issue when it comes to Parker, or a new fur ball in the house! Oh yeah I wanted to add as well, we have looked into adopting too, but with Parker being so tiny I worry wayyyy too much about placing a dog in this house.I don't foresee him getting any bigger either. I would love to but it's just not in my eyes safe for him at all. |

| new addition I think it is always good for them to live in pairs if you are away during the day etc..make a safe place for each until they are used to each other and at the beginning, any puppy is going to pester an adult, so keep them safe... |

Living My Yorkie Dream Donating Member | Well....I have 2 yorkies and also like the idea of them having each other for company when we are not home. Even with two, I still feel bad when we are gone for too long, so a buddy for Parker will help ease your anxiety on leaving them home, but not deter it completely. My first yorkie (a male) was almost 2 when we brought our little girl home. At first he wanted nothing to do with her..we even took him with us when we picked her up and amusingly (to us), he would not even look in her direction all the way home. I don't remember exactly, but I'm sure it didn't take too long for them to grow on each other and become best buds! So I say yes, go for it! Do it now so that you have plenty of time before going back to school for them to become accustomed to each other. Then be ready for double the fun and double the yorkie kisses every time you come home!

| sorry i dont have any wisdom on this, but i am very interested what others have to say too. i too am thinking about getting a little girl, but dont know if it would be best to get her now with dexter being 4 1/2 months, or if i should wait till next spring/summer. i dont have the problem of leaving them at home a lot since i work from home and right now i do take dexter with me almost everywhere...even shopping trips! but i think this would make him even more upset if we did have to leave him for extended time since he is used to going everywhere with momma. not too sure if company will make that better or worse.. i hope someone responds to this for you |

| ah, well Parker is still a baby (4months) but I do understand! I have kind of two kitchens that have a baby gate separating Parker from the living room and one that separates him from the other half of the kitchen, so that would be a good place to keep the new baby. But with me being home 24/7 they would both be with me most of the time with my supervision constant...as I am that way with Parker already!! Thanks for your opinion and suggestion! |

| I say get another! I bought two sisters at the same time and I'm so glad I did! They do keep each other company, they snuggle together for naps, but they still love me! The only problem I have, is that Brooklyn doesnt like to rough house all that much no matter how much Bailey begs.. So I'm getting another little girl (a biewer) to add to the group in February.

| What size is Parker? I think he would love another one to play with. I have a litter right now and it makes me so sad to think of my babies going where they are the only dog. By the time they leave me, they have been in the "big dog room' and gotten used to playing with all my others. it is just sad to think they won't have a playmate. i sometimes hesitate to sell to people that don't have another one for them to play with. I don't want my babies to be lonesome. |
