| They did it!!!!!!! Anyone recall my thread about these two loony dogs that would NOT GO DOWN THE STEPS????????? They could run up the steps..... They could run down the 6 steps on the deck..... I could put them on the 4th, 7th, 10th, and 13th steps and they would go down.... but NOT THE TOP (14th) STEP......... Well, I tried leaving a trail of honey Nut cheerios...... I left a trail of cheese......(little rats)....... I sat on the steps and called them to me.... NOTHING..... Yep, one day Lil Bit came to me....( she had been backing up and barking at me...she knew what I wanted her to do..)....I started to give her a little push from the top step and BAM!!!!!..... she just walked on down....and then Apple just walked on down like they had been doing it forever...... So now, the basement, which once was my safe place.....my respite from "kissy molestation" is now fair game for everyone!!!!! And as I type this one of the fur-kids is digging around behind the computer....likely gonna chew a cord!!!!! (or find a dead bug....UGH!!!!!) |

Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | That was cute - love the trail of food..it reminds me of my son as a baby - he saw bunnies in the field near our beachhouse and left a trail of carrots right to our door so he could wake up in the morning and see the baby bunnies.... There is NO escape now for you ! |

| Originally, I had intended to NOT teach these two, either.......I rather liked the occasional solitude of the basement......and a person could "escape" the ruckus if necessary......... Apple is now 14 months and Lil Bit just turned 8 months (yesterday 7-2-05 !!) I was afraid I had really waited too late for them to overcome the 'fear'... But recently, having to carry 2 dogs....a grand-baby....a cup / bottle of water..the grand-baby's sippy cup,...the phone........and a snack or two........UGH..... I just decided it would be easier if someone or something..... could get down the steps without my help... After 2-3 trips up and down thoses things just to get everybody and everything out to play I was ready for a nap.... |

| I remember when Jewels was finally able to climb the stairs. Shes only 3 lbs so it took her a little while. Now she can climb up and down the couch and scale her way up the bed.
