| Layla is having a hard time adjusting While Layla just LOVES Charlie the cat, she is having a hard time adjusting. I think it is really stressing her out. She sleeps most of the day (which isn't ALL That new.. but normally she perks up at night time) now all she wants is to be on someone's lap.. which is not like her at all.... she will get off to go see the cat sometimes but otherwise is right back on someone's lap... she is very needy... and threw up this morning is there anything i can do to make this easier for her??? she accidentily ate some cat food today.. maybe 1 -2 pieces... is this ok??? |

| I have a friend who puts her cats food on top of the dryer so the dog doesn't get at it. Maybe you could put it up where Layla can't get it. Layla is just going thru what a lot of only "child" fur-babies go thru. She just doesn't know what her routine is now that it's out of sync. She's just going on the laps because it's a security blanket that she is use to. She will be just fine. |

| awwww she's used to being the "only child". Jake went through this when we first brought Jackson home, but he was fine in a couple days. He actually got mad at me and wouldn't have anything to do with me, yet he wasn't mad at my husband.....even though we BOTH went to pick Jackson up and took Jake with us! But, I guess since he's such a mommy's boy, he had to show me that he didn't approve. Now he and Jackson are best buddies! Try to make a time where you can be alone with her and give her lots of attention and maybe a new little toy or something. She'll come around.

| A little bit of cat food won't hurt her, but I wouldn't let her have a lot. She's probably just a little jealous with someone in her home. She'll be ok.

My Tiny Treasures Donating Member | Cat food won't hurt her Maybe she just isn't feeling well today and its not anything to do with the kitty visiting. I'm sure when she feels better she'll be happy to have a playmate for awhile. Maybe its just an upset tummy. Mine do that every so often. |

| Is there any chance that Charlie could scratch her with his claws or his at her? That is what I am afraid of with cats. Yorkies are so sensitive. |

| Aww....it may take some time but they will be the best of friends. My cat Simba and Mindy took only a few days to mesh but when Bear came along Simba stayed far away for at least 3 weeks and then suddenly he started to want to play again. Now he gets attacked by both Mindy and Bear. I keep Simba's food on a stool high enough that the pups can't get at it. Works great! Good luck!

| I bet she isn't feeling well today and she is also hanging out on your lap to make sure she is the one getting the attention It will take some time but she will be ok. The cat food won't harm her, it may upset her tummy if she has a sensitive belly with diet changes tho.
