| Bottle feeding?????????? My vet told me that I should help supplement our 4 little babies so mamma doesn't have everything sucked out of her. Since she is not that big and the puppies are. My ? is, they don't like the bottle or the taste of the esbilac (formula). I have tried different nipples, adding corn syrup, and a syringe. I need ideas I told my husband that maybe I should just nurse them since I'm already nursing our baby He said thats to gross! It's a joke in case you didn't get it. Maybe they would like the taste better if I pumped and bottle fed it to them??? Hmmm... am I very weird for just saying that out loud?

My Tiny Treasures Donating Member | I found that a premie human nipple worked the best for me. I had a pup I had to feed for almost 3 months this way before she was able to eat any food on her own. Also I used this formula: 1 can of evaporated milk or goats milk 1 tablespoon real mayo 1 egg yoke a tablespoon white karo syrup 1 cup of WHOLE plain yogart warm to room temp, store covered in fridge Blened together (but make sure no bubbles which will cause gas) Good luck, I hope this helps! |

My Tiny Treasures Donating Member | I also wanted to add that this is a higher calorie formual comapred to the kind you buy. It containes 11 calories per CC compared to 1 caliroe per CC in the store bought brands. I raised my baby on this and only this and she did fine! I researched on the web and found this recipe and they loved it! I even made it for my ill cat towards the end of his fight as it was the only thing he would eat. Keep us posted!!! |
