| So cute. I just LOVE yorkies with tails, there's almost something sad about a wagging stump! Why do they cut them off anyway? Is it just a breed standard or is there another reason, I was always curious about that. |

| You could say we have Tail. Pixie was Left a little to long. ( product of a Breeder who Docks at the length she likes LOL) At first I didn't Know But Now I love it.... Here is Pixies tail. it is about 3 inches long. I would say what I love about it most is when she holds it high and runs. It flows in the wind. |

| Rocky & his sister Jilly have Tail. Jilly's curls up on her back like a Maltese, Rock's is straight.

Therapy Dog Donating Member | I love seeing our Yorkies with their "full" tail. I never saw a Yorkie with their full tail until I came to YT. It must be a breed standard to dock their tails?? Not sure....I hope someone answers to this post that knows why they get docked and how much stump should be left.

| I got my Delilah at 9 weeks with no tail already. It wasn't my choice, but that is how she is and I do not love her any less. I don't see it as sad at all. She has the cutest little "bear butt" I ever saw!

| None of my yorkies have tails, I didn't realize that they cut them off until I came here to YT, I thought they were natural for the dog breed. I was only making fun, I love all wagging dogs, tails or stumps, you can tell when they are happy! I had a rat terrier who had his tail docked so close all he had was the end of his spine, he did a hip wag, it was way too cute! Vet said it was cut dangerously close to his spine and it was done for looks, this was a rescue dog and I miss him so much, he was with us for 7 years. |
