| Yorkie's with allergies - environment/dog food? Hi All, I am almost certain that my little Stomper boy has allergies. He does not have fleas and he will itch himself ALL the time. He has been on Royal Canine Puppy 33 for the entire time we have had him with us - got him at 2 months and he is now 7 months. I've done some research on YT and found that many of you that used to give your dogs Royal Canine stopped when they developed an allergy to it (due to the corn ingredient). Stomper loves Royal Canine like you wouldn't believe, but I want to try something healthy and new before putting him on any medication. I've done tons of research and have found that California Natural, Wellness, Natural Balance and Innova are all good human grade foods for dogs with no soy, corn and fillers. I've selected California Natural since it only contains 4 ingredients and is excellent for coats and healthly skin. I'm going to try it for 6 weeks and see if he improves. If not, I'm taking him to the vet. Here are my questions: 1) Have you ever used California Natural? Only specialty places sell this product since stores like PetsMart and Petco don't take the time to find the most healthy ingredients for our dogs (this is just what I have heard). 2) If your yorkie has allergies to grass or pollen, what can you do to prevent the itching? I feel so bad for my Stomper! Any and all suggestions and feedback would be great! :

| I was recommended to a excellent dog food- small kibble-human grade called Wysong. They have a type called Anergen especially made for dogs with food allergies. I used to feed Royal Canin.. and the itching was awful! The I switched to Wysong.. and its been MUCH better. As an experiment, I swictched back again.Within a few days.. back to itching again. So I feel I have given it a fair shake. Its also been listed on the "10 best" list thats out there. I have also heard that Innova is good. The other issue with Royal Canin is the very high protein count. Our little guys systems can not handel that much (33), and can get liver or kidney "burnout". So, I hope this is a help. I can get mine from a good pet store-- its also on line. But its not available from PetsMart or PetCo
