My daughter told me that one of her friends at gym is looking for a Yorkie. THey want a "Teacup" . My daughter told her there is no such thing. They are just breeding the smallest of litters. PLus they often have health problems because of being so little. Her friend insist that it is a different type of Yorkie. My daughter just kept telling her that there was no such thing but she didn't believe her. I can't believe my daughter has crossed over. LOL

Good for her!!..... Tell her that it is great that she is trying to help educate people on Yorkies!...If more people know and do research about the breed, there won't be as many Yorkie "rescues" needed.

haha...good one! that is one thing I've learned being a member here, "there is not such thing as a teacup Yorkie!" It's all good

Way to go!!!! There are people that just will not believe... I tell them to go to the AKC website and look at the breeds and that there is only one listing for Yorkshire Terriers (unlike Poodles, which have 3 listings) and that is under the Toy Group and to notice that there is no Teacup description for ANY breed... Sometimes that works, unless they are very hard and empty headed!

Smart daughter you have, I guess your raising her to know what is what..when it comes to dog sizes...maybe she will be a future good breeder.

Give her a print out of what the YTCA says about "teacups" LOL. It amazes me that no matter how hard you try, some people choose to keep believing the wrong thing. Every time I hear the media talk about yorkies it's always "a miniature yorkie"...heard it just a minute ago in fact

Educate yourself and buy from reputable breeders or rescue.
