| pee pad troubles My yorkie is 10 weeks old. We have had him for almost 4 weeks. I have been keeping him in a area on our hardwood floors when we can not watch him. He is retained by a baby gate. He does great using the pads while in this area. When he is out playing on the carpet, he uses it on the carpet. Never the kitchen floor or hardwood floors. I have had no luck with him going to his pad from the carpet. He hates to be kept in this area and whines and barks till someone gets him out. He is spoiled!!!! Does anyone have any suggestions. He gets treats and love when he uses his pad. I clap, say no, and take hm to his pad when caught!!! We are having a hard time keeping him in his area because he barks so bad!! Does anyone think because he does not like being in this area is why he will not go there to use his pad? Help!!!!! |

| I hate to break it to you- but you've got a long way to go. He is a puppy.. what do you expect? Just be consistent (put him on the pad after he wakes up, eats, drinks, etc.) and eventually he'll get the hang of it.

| Gosh, he just a baby. Most Yorkie puppies are still with their moms at that age. The fact that he's using his pads while in his pen is really great progress for his age. |

| You may have had him for 4 weeks, but he is at the age where he should just now be coming home. Coming home at 6 weeks is soooo young. It sounds like he is making progress while he is being kept behind the gate, and I think he's just too young to expect any different for right now.

| I agree, he's just too young to really make the connection and travel all the way to the pad especially if it's in another room. One day it will 'click', be patient Oops, I forgot to welcome you to YT! Post pics of your baby soon so we can all oooh and aaahh!

| I got mine at 11 weeks, she's doing very well at using the pee pads, sometimes, at that age, they can't make it back to the pee pads..I have 2 areas that I put pee pads in, I can say she's doing very well at going to them, but, she's 15 weeks now, and it took a couple weeks for her to do that..some train faster than others..just keep working with her, if you see her squatting somewhere else tell her NO, you pee on the paper, and then take her to it..she will get the hang of it |
