| Buying a Yorkie I found this breed very comfortable so I may be buying a Yorkie soon. I read some things about them on the web. I live in a house, so it will have plenty of space. What are the costs for vaccination? Is it better to take a male or a female? What are the character differences? Thanks! |

| Good luck to you. No matter which sex you ultimately adopt, you're going to want to get another of the other sex...at least, that's the way it is with me. I have a male, sweet, affectionate, loving...but, I also long to have a frilly little girl that I can dress up. Yorkies are wonderful, wonderful babies! |

| Yorkie's are wonderful! I'm so in love with my Bella! As far as costs for vaccinations it probably varies depending on where you live, I would call some local vets and see what they charge. As far as sex, I'm partial to females because I never want to have to deal with a male dog marking his territory. But, I've always had females (have 2 now) so I really don't have much experiance dealing with a male dog. Good luck in your search for your new baby!

| Mine had one set of shots when I got her, I've taken her in for one set, and then another one tomorrow, then she'll have to go one more time. The last time it was $60, tomorrow I think is $53, then the last one with the rabi shot, will probably be $62, then she's done for a year. I have 3 females and 1 male..The male is very affectionate, and has never lifted his leg, but, as long as you get them neuterd before they start lifting, most likely they won't lift. I think myself that females are easier to work with on certain things when they're younger, as the little boys are too buys scouting things out...their attention span isn't as good as the girls...But, a yorkie is a yorkie, what can I say, they're all great...! |

YT Addict | Welcome Congratulations on picking one of the cutest and most loveable breeds there is! I have a girl and vaccinations aren't too bad since they arn't very often. Also grooming is what you need to look out for that can get expencive but if you find the right one they shouldn't be too too expencive! If you do get a girl and get her fixed that is a stressfull time but very worth while (espeically if your furnature is white ) Spaying varies bepending on your vet. On the familiy side of things they are so lovable and goodnatured! Training is important so I recomend videos or books by Ceasar Millan He works wonders! Again congrats and welcome to YT |

| Vaccinations are just a small part of the cost of owning a dog. You might find this helpful in making your decision: http://www.peteducation.com/article....articleid=1543 |

| Kind of hard to give a good estimate of vaccinations considering where you are located as compared to the majority of the members here. Welcome to YT! |
