Red area behind ear Stella has a red area behind her ear, she has been scratching there and other areas lately but I hadn't seen a spot like this until just a few minutes ago. Is there anything I can apply that is safe, the area feels warm to the touch.

It could be where she has scratched it. She may have ear mites. Are your ears clean or do they have a dark dirt in them?

Ears are clean, she is currently on anti-biotics for a urinary tract infection. I sprinkled a little Gold Bond Powder on the spot since it's in an area she cannot lick. Seems like there have been several "itchy yorkie" threads posted lately, I wonder why. She's never had a problem with scratching before and she eats the same Canidae and Chicken Soup for Puppies kibble. I haven't noticed any dry skin just the scratching.
