| Scared of the blow dryer I thought about this after reading the post regarding the harness issues. After giving Bailey a bath he shivers and i want him to get warm and dry (obvious) so i try and put the blow dryer on him at a low temp and low speed and he looks at me like i am about to murder him. he really should be in the movies because the look he gives me is priceless. after i get the look i wrap him up in a towel and just let him dry off on his own. but he shivers so much! i was just wondering if the blow dryer will hurt their little ears or if like the harness, he just needs to get used to it. this may be a stupid question but i am a very over protective mother |

| Coco gives me the same loook, like "I can't believe you betrayed me. I can't believe you are doing this to me!" After her bath, I wrap her in her towel and dry her with the towel. Then I sit on the ground, and make her sit in my lap. I turn the dryer on and she starts to shake. She does get scared but half way through she realizes, " Hey I'm not being hurt?? Ok this isn't so bad, and I'm not cold anymore."

| It's a good question..I believe that we are supposed to blow dry our babies..I do..Maximus doesn't love it but I wrap him in the towel and put him on my lap at which point I blowdry and brush him..I usually bring some treats in the bathroom on the side that I give him throughout the ORDEAL...lol..and he is dry in 15-20 minutes and running around...

| Codie is EXCELLENT when it comes to blow drying. He sits down and lets me do it. Katie, on the other hand, is the puppy from blow dryer hell!!! She squirms and cries - I feel so bad! But after abour 4 or 5 minutes, she realizes that I am not hurting her and stop squirming enough for me to finish. I never TOTALLY dry my dogs. I dry them about 90% because I am always afraid to burn their pretty hair.

| geez, my coco bear always tries to bite his blow dryer. i do not use a heated blow dryer though i learned that it dries their hair(they loose alot of the natural oils in their hair) from the heat even with a low setting. i use a dryer that is just air. and it works great. what i do to ensure that he doesn't get cold is i just turn my heater on for afew min. before his bath.

| Darn it! I have a problem, too. Muffin just loved the blow dryer! Kacee cries (she's a crybaby anyway) so loud and I set it low heat or cool, but she still cries so loud you'd think I was hurting her. It's definitely the noise. She watches me blow dry my hair in wonder that I would do that to myself! Time before her last bath, she peed on me! She was a little better this last time for awhile, but then she started crying really loud again. She really needs to learn not to be afraid of it, because in the winter she really needs to be dried quickly. I don't know what to do! I don't want her to be scared of it. |

| My husband has to hold Zeus while I blow dry him, b/c he really hates the dryer. What a little baby!! I wouldn't trade him for anything!

| Maggie is four months old and I have bathed her every week since she was 8 weeks old. I sit on the floor with a big fluffy towel. I place her on the towel and she just snuggles into it. I have the blow dryer going on low, and low heat, holding it about two feet away. She dries very fast. When I get one side dry, I just roll her over. She seems to love it, because it warms her up.

| I know that this sounds crazy, but I sing to my dogs. So when I blow dry them, I sing to them and make sure that I have their favorite toys in the bathroom with me and eventually they will get used to it. |

| All 3 of mine love the blow dryer! I know this may sound really wierd but all three of my yorkie LOVE the blow dryer! Hefner has always loved it because he loves to be warm. He lays in the sun whenever he can find any. Chai was a little timid at first, but all three will actually come into the bathroom when anyone is blow drying their hair hoping to get it aimed at them for even a few seconds. I will usually ablige if I am not in an icredible hurry because I spent too much time on YT! |

| My 2 pupster's love the blow dryer and will actually lay down on the backs , spread eagle. Mia will even fall asleep while I dry and brush her out. I keep the dryer moving so they don't get too much heat beacause I worry about burning them as well. I have had many dogs and the way I always get mine accustomed to the dryer is to allow them to follow me into the restroom each morning while I'm getting ready for work(you know how they are like little shadows anyway). I shut the restroom door so they can't get out and they watch me put my makeup on and then I start blowing my hair dry, after a few days of doing this they are use to the sound of the dryer and then ever so often I would just kind of aim the dryer in their direction so they could feel the warm air they seem not so freaked out by the noise and the sensation of hot air blowing on them. Just has always seemed to work for me. I had a sheltie a few years ago that every morning insisted I blow his dry hair after I finished with my hair. Wet or dry, he loved the blow dryer.

| Lucky hates the blow dryer too. At first she is scared and tries to avoid it. Then she tries to attack it. I have found that it helps to attach a diffuser. I don't know if this is better or worse for her fur, but it muffles the sound and makes the air a little less powerful. I think that she hates the sound more than anything b/c it echoes in our bathroom and her ears are very sensitive. She has the same reaction to our vaccuum cleaner. |

| Chewy hates the blowdryer. I've only used it a couple of times but he just buries his face into the bathroom mat and I just run the dryer over him for the shortest time possible. |

| Bailey likes to sit in the bathroom with me while i get ready for work and when it comes to blow drying my hair, i get the same look of death. i'll either put him in his exercise pen while i blow dry or i just leave it wet because he cries so loud in the mornings while i am in the bathroom. he definitly is my lil' shadow, he is just going to have to get used to it. |
