| Lucy (Lucille Louise) is here!! I have finally received my little yorkie last Tuesday. She is now 8 wks old. She was born on 9/11. Great things can happen on that day. We are working on puppy pad training at the moment. She is doing pretty well with that. A few little mistakes happen now and then. I am having a real hard time with leaving her in a kennel while I am at home. She can cry and whine pretty darn loud. I even have moved her into a room with the door closed, but I can still hear her. Does anyone have any suggestions on stopping the crying? It just breaks my heart to hear her. Jill and Little Lucy.

| Welcome to YT! Of course that baby is gonna cry, at 8 weeks the little girl is so much still a baby, she needs a lot of attention right now and is really too young to be by herself so much. Dogs are social animals, she's lonely and scared, she needs to be with you as much as possible right now. Maybe you could get a little dog carrier and keep her with you more. |

| Thank you for your help. I own my own hair salon, so I do take her to work with me. My client's just love her. I transport her in a little doggie purse/carrier. One day she slept in the hand holder of my sweatshirt the whole time I worked. She does love to be close to me. I guess I am confused as to crate training her. I have read that until they are potty trained, you only let them out when they eat and 10 minutes later to go to the bathroom. There crate becomes there little private area they can go to when they want to be left alone and they don't like to mess in there. I will admit that I do let her out more than she is in. She just follows me all over the place, It is hard to get anything done. But I just love it.

| Aw, she sounds like such a sweetie! I have a 9 week old boy and he's very independent. If you watch you can tell when they start looking for a place to go and you can take her to her 'potty place'. I've never crate trained, I've always got dogs and the pups learn from the older ones. Mine have a special rug that they go on, one of those rag ones. Of course, I'm ALWAYS washing rugs, but it is what works for me. I bet she's a real hit at your salon! Would love to see a pic. |

| I'm not sure how it works yet, but, I've seen some spray called comfort zone advertized...read up on that and see what you think..I never crated mine, I always put them in an xpen with water, food, pee pad and bed...I don't like for them to have to hold their bladders at such a young age..if she has access to the pee pad, I think it's easier to train them that way myself |

| Thanks for all of the encouragement. I do not like the crate maybe except for traveling. She sometimes likes to just go in there to get away. My six year old son just loves little Lucy, but he sometimes forgets she is just a baby. I think I have figured out how to posts some pics. Enjoy!! No I have not figured it out yet. I am a little computer illeterate. Can someone help me. I did upload them in the attachment manager space. Now I don't know where they went.
