| Have you been to the vet lately? I think my pups caught kennel cough from there. I would start on a little Dimetap DM right away. I think I have decided it may be from letting them down on the floor in the front office on their leash? Just a guess.

| It could be reverse sneezing. My dogs make this sound every now and then.

| Could be any of the following, all of which are common in yorkies, or somehting else: reverse sneezing Kennel cough trachea collapse You can google any of these to find out more about them, but i would recommend a trip to the vet to get an accurate diagnosis after your research. |

| Thanks everyone.. I had planned on taking him next week to the vet.. since i will be out of town tomorrow-monday. he doesn't do it that often... and when you said reverse sneezing, that is perfect description of what it sounds like! Is that serious? is it something he needs to be treated for? |

A reverse sneeze sounds like a "Harfing Sound". It could be that or kennel cough. If it's kennel cough, don't mess around. It's contagious and can kill. He will need to see the vet for meds.

| This one has me confused, too. How can you tell which of the tree it is?? My vet gave Dublin Clavamox for 10 days, and it seemed to slow down considerably. Then last night he did it 5 or 6 times! He stops whatever he's doing. Does his hacking - reminds me of a cat with a furball in it's throat. Then is right back to normal. Sleep, play, whatever. He's not bothered by it at all. We go back to the vet this week. Should I ask to have any tests or to check his trachea?? Would really appreciate advice...
