| Puppies Stolen or Rescued in Orlando? Saw this on the news last night where 12 puppies mostly small breeds were taken from a Pet Store AAAARRRGGGHH! night before last. The news link has a slideshow too http://www.wesh.com/news/4662521/detail.html. The place is called Just Puppies. I looked on their website at Justpuppies.net and am quite convinced these are mill puppies - they mention getting them from USDA breeders in Missouri - HELLO! I can't help but wonder if the people who took them knew this... Oh well, I guess I'm just trying to think positive about what will happen to the puppies but at least that stupid store won't be making the money off of them... Dana |

| I looked at the JustPuppies website and I think they might get their puppies from a mill even though it says in their FAQ: "Where do your puppies come from? Just Puppies buys the puppies from USDA and state licensed breeders, mostly in Missouri. USDA breeders are regulated by the federal department of agriculture and are regularly inspected by the USDA as well as the state." |

| There is no excuse for stealing those dogs. I am sorry, but I think the thieves are just that. They will be selling them for practically nothing to people who may not be able to properly care for a dog. Probably looking for drug money. Of course, this is just my opinion, as I hear so much!

| The USDA is the United States Department of Agriculture if I'm not mistaken - these are the people who oversee livestock breeding so if the breeders are approved by them, the puppies and their parents are probably treated as just that, livestock. I'm fairly sure USDA typically is a red flag for a puppy mill. As well as the state of Missouri. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong here... Dana |

| Dana - I don't know, but like you - I would just like to think the puppies end up in the hands of kind people who will love and cherish them. didn't mean to be so negative.

| Yeah, typically if they are USDA licensed, it is assumed that they are a puppy mill because these are the people that sell their puppies commercially. That's so sad about those puppies being stolen. I would also like to think that they were rescued, but if they were being pulled out of their cages viciously, it's probaly not so. |

| Poor puppies, I bet they were scared. I hope so badly that the people stealing the puppies were people who felt very passionate about puppymills and petstores and was trying to prove a point. And now those puppys will be raised in happy homes. But shame on those people taking something that isn't there to take. |

| That is heartbreaking. We can only be optimistic that the pups were taken to be "saved"... Their little cages make me so sad. Ugh. Stealing is never right. |

| I hate a theif! Even if they are stealing from a place I despise!!! and for the owner to say they're pratically worthless, let's you know he's thinking of his profit loss and not the well being of those puppies. |
