Chewy's First Visit to the Dogrun Chewy went for the first time today to the small dog run. It was very interesting because I was holding him on his leash for the first 10 minutes when a nice lady started talking to me and said I should give him a chance to run off-leash. Well, I was scared because the limit is 23 lbs and some of those dogs weren't no 23 lbs, and there were about 7 dogs including a humping pug! But I let him off and he was very scared but all of the dogs were nice. The Brussels Griffon with the serious underbite scared us all but he ended up being friendly. Chewy ran around for a while but he got a little nervous and then just sat at my feet for a while. We are going to take him back tomorrow morning and I will post some pics then.

| We have a dog park here, but I there are no other little guys there! That is so cool that Chewy got to play off the leash with other pups! I can't wait to see pics!

I dont think we have one in my area, I wish they did but Rio is rather antisocial, he isnever ugly but is not too interested either. Mignon would love it but I am afraid she might get mowed over she is so little. Let us know how your next visit goes!

Our local PetSmart has a puppy run time. It is so funny to see all the little babies running around. They really seam to love it. Maybe when Roxy gets older and has all her shots.

When I take Hefner, Chai and Buddha they all behave differently. Hefner is Mr. Social and has to run around and meet everyone. He never stops running as long as we are there unless I grab him and make him stop and get a drink. Chai was really shy the first time we went and spent her time being held or at my feet. This last time she warmed up and even started chasing some of the bigger more aggressive dogs. She gets out of the way quickly so I don't think they would ever mow her over...she's like a little rabbit or kitten. Last edited by SoCalyorkiLvr; 06-28-2005 at 04:57 PM.

It is funny to see all the little dogs with their short legs running! Although, the smallest one there was about 10x the size of Chewy! I hope it will socialize him, because he is just so used to being held by me all the time and tire him out a bit. I'll be bringing my flash with me tomorrow.

Schatzie is a nervous wreck around other dogs too if she doesn't know them. She would have acted just as Chewy did. Look forward to seeing the pictures!
