Mia was an extremely picky eater when I first got her, still is somewhat. She would eat lamb and chicken baby food, I sometimes mixed it with canned food and mixed that with a little Karo. Now she loves the RC puppy food!

My Bell is a picky eater too, The only thing she will eat is: iams and pedigree little champions traditional ground dinner with chicken.. I have tried everything else. Problem is my mother (who lives with me) feeds her anything she wants, so why should she eat dog food. Last edited by troubletb; 12-18-2004 at 01:00 PM. Reason: spelling

The vet said that Yorkies are generally picky eaters, but not to worry about it too much. I feed Archie Innova because Yorkies tend to have sensitive stomachs and Innova is healthy and doesn't have too much additives or chemicals. But he really really loves Merrick even if it's too rich for him. Archie used to be very picky, but I just leave food for him and he eats whenever he's hungry. Somedays he doesn't eat at all, but somedays he eats a lot. Dogs generally don't starve themselves like cats might so even if he is picky, he WILL eat...it just might not be when you want him to.

im lucky, toby will eat ANYTHING....... (hes like a breathing food compactor.....lol) ....... i feed him Eukanuba Petit because it is small kibbles and easier to chew, you could also try coating the dry kibble with a mixture of a liitle bit of baby food and water (the water helps the babyfood coat the kibble evenly, and doesnt make it clump into one big ball).... the babyfood that toby liked was the turky and veggie, or beef flavor Good Luck

I feed my dog Science Diet Little Bites Puppy Food. They are really tiny, and she took to it from day one. You are much better off sticking to a dry dog food, as it helps clean the teeth. I give her part of a Greenie, Petrodix sticks, Dog Bones again the tiny ones. The only people food she gets, is three little peaces of apple and three little pieces of banana in the morning. If we have chicken breasts, I will feed her about a teaspoon of one. After we are done eating and cleaning up. She has never begged kfrom the table, In fact, we have a little bed I made her in the kitchen and she will lay down and nap when we eat! It's great! Pat

Know what you mean! Snoodles will do the shake hands, beg, kroll over, play dead, dance, crawl for a piece of her reg. food! My daughter gets a big kick out of it. Can't believe she will perform for the same food that is sitting in her dog dish!

It seems we all use a good dog food for our Yorkies. My vet said he didn't care what I used to just use a good brand like Science Diet, Purina, Iam's, Eckanuba, etc. The best one is the one your puppy will like! Right?

| I tried the Science Diet with Lilli and she turned up her nose on that.As canned food goes neither of my Yorkies like it all they will eat is the Puppy Chow its good for their teeth anyways so thats just what I keep them on. My aunt she has Lilli and Lexies sister and she is a picky eater so my aunt keeps going back and fourth between food so if I were you I would see which one she likes the best and stick to it.Your Yorkie might be doing this because all of the different food she gets and she likes all of them Yorkies are very smart dogs and they know how to contol you and you dont even know they are doing it so I would keep my eye on your little one and stick to one brand of food.
