| Whats the best animal shelter/org. to donate to? I want to start donating a percentage of my sales from my website to an animal org. but I have kept putting it off becuase it requires a little research and I have been busy. I was thinking like spca or something. Do you guys have any recommendation on an organiztion? I really want to support NO-KILL animal agency. I havent decided if I should stick to a small breed organiztion or one that helps all dogs.

I think one of the "anti-puppymill" rescue groups. If you want me to research them for you I would happy to. Just PM me and I will gather info and report to you how their donstion money is spent, how many animals they rescue every year and how many mills they have put out of business.

Here's a few Yorkie-related ones, I have heard the first two mentioned, without any problems, but of course please do your research before choosing one to support. http://www.yorkshireterrierrescue.net http://www.yorkierescue.com http://www.sosdogs.org

research very well before you decide on one. alot of times the money doesn't go directly to what you think it does. I know that the puppymillrescue is good. What area are you in again?? I can do some research for you through some connections that i have. Let me know.

I am in Dallas/fort worth area of texas but I want to go with a rescue group that is more national since my business is. I think I would also like to concentrate on small breeds as opposed to all breeds since this pertains to me more and I dont think I want to just limit it to Yorkies. I woulld really like to support one that focuses on all small breeds as I feel there is a greater need for this. And I definely want to make sure they really spend the money on the animals.

We support our local yorkie rescue organization just because it's closeby and it is tough to choose from all the very worthwhile groups out there.

I support my local Humane Soceity and also every day I click on this site: theanimalrescuesite.com It is free to click on it and it helps feed animals. I also purchase items out of their store. I have the purple paw bracelets and the magnets for my car. So I'm donating and getting cool stuff at the same time! Last edited by taje; 06-28-2005 at 05:57 AM.

Shana: This is sweet. i think a yorkshire terrier rescue organization would be a great choice. I've looked on the site and some of the older yorkies need a lot of medical attntion before they are sent to new homes. Good luck with whatever organization you choose.

I support Smallpawsrescue. It is mostly for Bichons but I like their philosophy and their organization. There is a newer Yorkie rescue-Sophie's Isle of York. I also support them but they are newer so not a whole lot on the internet about them. I know some members personally...
