| Is it just me? I am really paranoid for my little chloe( and my other dogs, but CHloe is so little). After all the horrible stories yesterday I am completely freaked out that something is going to happen and that I will have to post the next horrible story. I noticed so many of the yorkie that passed away yesterday were so young. I cant even imagine if someting happened to Chloe. She should have her whole life ahead of her. I dont even want her going outside unattended for even a minute. SInce CHloe is less than 2 lbs I have always been afraid a big bird or cat is going to get her when she is outside. SO now I am scared that someting like that will happen or she will fall off the couch becuase she is so brave and she does scary stunts all the time. And I cant keep my eye on her every minute of the day. Is anyone else freaked out too?

| Oh no...don't feel weirded out at all. I am way paranoid!!!! And people think I'm absolutely crazy for it, and I think they are crazy for not being like me. I too have been more protective of Linus, and I think the best thing is that my boyfriend has become a little more cautious too.

| Oh yes. I keep thinking of little "mistakes" that I make every day with the excuse of "oh, he'll be fiiiiiiine." My husband takes Sully on walks in the evening...mostly off the leash. He just admitted this to me yesterday when I showed him all the sadness on here and he promised me that he would never do that again. I keep racking my brain to think of anything that I could change to be safer....because as we all know it only takes once.

| I have been more paranoid since Pebbles got really sick. Yesterday was a really depressing day! I just hope it does not happen again.

| I am the yorkie momma from you know where! The people around me think I am nuts because I post the poisonous foods list on the fridge, I put signs on the door to watch for little babies when coming and going, I teach them to swim , to stay, to come and they are constantly in training for some thing to protect. I am teaching them allthe "up" command to jump up into a persons' arms quickly in case of unexpected danger. I will not let them outside alone ever for fear of hawks and owls and possibly falling in the pool, etc. I have carseats. life jackets, stairs for all the beds and couches, I only give them filtered water and I have researched the best vets and the controversy about vaccines. I think the little angels this weekend taught us that youcan never be too protective and sometimes no matter how protective you are accidents haopen. It's just a part of life. |

| Yep, I am! If Lily is being quiet and chewing a bone, I'll go nuts and run around looking for her. She looks at me like, 'what's up, am I missing something?' But last night was really bad, I wouldn't let her down. I also have that bad feeling of having to post some horrible news. I am wondering if I will ever be comfortable and at ease again when she isn't sitting on top of me. These losses sure woke me up!

| My husband lets all the dog out in teh backyard in the morning for like 15 minutes all alone while I lay in bed asleep. I hate it because who know what could happen. 15 minutes is toooo long. Chloe used to not even leave the porch so I wasnt that worried but now she has gotten realllll brave. Its scares me. I think we(my husband especially) underestimates the size and how fragile these little guys are.

| My husband thinks I am nuts about thinking that a bird will get chloe but I saw it on animal planet. A Dad and his son were playing in the backyard with their puppy and a bird came and swooped it away. And that puppy was being supervised! HUmans were right there.

| You are not alone... I too am freaked out by all this. I don't even have my yorkie yet, not until July. I have purchased pet insurance already, am contemplating getting stairs to allow her to get on/off beds, couches etc. I am imaging myself carrying her everywhere I go just to prevent her from getting stepped on. |

| freaked out Please try to relax. When we do all we can to insure the safety of our pets, that is all we can do. When I lose a pet, I have to accept the fact it was the end of their time on earth. We can not be foolish and need to take precautions, but enjoy your baby.. Most of the accidents are from dropping the puppy...a young child or even adult not realizing how fast they are and jump out of your arms. I ask people to sit on the floor while playing with my puppies. Attacks by other dogs is another number one problem. Most of the other accidents are freak ones, not as common. |

They not only can fly off with a small yorkie - the TALONS alone will kill or seriously injure a small dog. HAWKS or other predatory birds are always looking for rabbits, chipmonks, field mice etc and a small yorkie running looks just like this to them. | |
