| need help Cozmo is a rescue yorkie that we got last Fri. He will not poop outside, and won't go on the wee wee pads. I fill bad because Deiter wants to play with him, But if he won't potty outside and waits then goes and hides and goes. I have been putting him in the kennel and taking him out about every half hour. I have cleaned up more poop from Cozmo than I ever did with Deiter. I am ready to pull my hair out. So what do I need to do to correct this with Cozmo. Please help. I feel bad for making him stay in his pen. But I don't want Deiter picking up that he can go in the house. So any ideas

| Yay for rescue! It sounds like Cosmo needs to get adjusted to living in your home (heaven knows what his living conditions were previously) before actually learning the house rules. |

| First let me thank you for rescueing a Yorkie. Poor little guy probably just needs to learn the house rules. What about a very special treat when he potty's outside like a piece of chicken or liverwurst. These treats can only be given outside never inside. They must be kept for potty outdoors so he gets the idea. Potty outdoors special yummy treat. That info was given to me from a trainer several years ago. How about keeping him in just the kitchen for a week or so until he gets the idea. I am sure your other baby won't pick up bad habits if they are seperated for a couple of days and use the create only at night or when you leave the house. I would also monitor his food and water until he gets the message. I would not leave food and water down during the day if I were not home. Good luck, I am sure he'll get the message and fit right in with your family. Post pictures when you can. |
