| Poop and more poop! Hi, My female yorkie is two years old and still likes to poop in the house. She of all places will poop often on the stairs. Now I have a 12 week old male who likes to poop in my formal dining room. One morning I scolded him severely for pooping in the dining room. Then as I went to go up the stairs Sadie had laid down a log for me also. Did she want to get in trouble also or what!!! Anyway any tips on getting them to poop outside instead of in my house? They do great pottying outside, I take them out often. HELP!!! Thanks, Angie |

| Have you tried newspaper or pee pads? One important tip is to not let them watch you clean it up, because it will enforce the behavior. Also get a pet-odor neutralizing spray from petsmart and cover your stairs with it, they like to go in the same spot all the time so she'll return to the stairs since she can still smell it there.

| Do your pups have the run of the house? Are they confined to one area when your not around? Your "problem" isnt going to get any better w/ ur new lil pup, infact its only going to get worse. Getting a new pup when the other is displaying bad behavior probably wasnt the best idea... I mean, ur lil guy is most likely going to learn from the other - right?!? I definately would have held of on getting a new puppy until the other was a little better trained.

| My female hasnt been displaying..."bad behavior" all the time. This was an occasional mishap for her to poop in the house. It has just gotten worse since the new puppy. Most of the time the pups do not have run of the house. I have areas on the first floor gated off. So to the negative comment of I shouldnt have gotten another dog.....your comment was no help. To the other who suggested spraying the area, and not letting the dogs watch me clean it up. Thank you!!! I didnt know I wasnt supposed to let them see me clean it up. I usually am telling them bad dog as I pick it up and throw it in the toilet. I will try your suggestions. p.s. Do you think having my carpets cleaned would help? |

| Carpet cleaning might help. I've also heard A vinegar water solution would get the smell out too. By the way, If you're looking for that spray, I think its by the pee pads and stuff at petsmart. Make sure you read the bottle before you buy it tho, there is another spray that makes them want to pee and poop in a specific spot to spray on the pads and stuff. Make sure you get the carpet/fabric neutralizer.

| I've been having that problem with cody too. before we got Gracie he only had occasional accidents in the house. We got Gracie and she was peepad trained and goes both on the pad and outside, but Cody has now started to go on the floor! She goes on the peepad next to the door but he has started to go on the kitchen floor opposite side of the house!!!!!!
